Hi everyone, hope you're all having an amazing start to the summer!
I'm still on the path to recovery and going through options with my doctors. In a couple weeks I'll be going in to try the nerve block procedure again. They want to try it on a different part of my spine this time in case we didn't get the right area last time.
Although extremely slowly, I have noticed some slight progress over the last couple months with my mobility, but I'm still not able to be physically active for very long before the pain starts to trigger. My hope is that the worst case scenario is that I'm just extremely slow to heal. For the time being, my doctors and I will continue to look for answers and any ways to help the healing along!
I hope everyone is doing well! Give your pups a hug from me, I miss seeing them all!

Hi everyone!
Unfortunately I haven't made much progress since my last update. The nerve block procedure did not work for me so it's back to the drawing board with X-rays and another MRI to see if there are additional issues in another location. We still have to get the re-herniated disc back in and deal with the scar tissue that is irritating my nerve as well.
I didn't anticipate things going like this and I hope my absence hasn't caused any inconveniences. I wish I had an idea of how much longer this whole process will take and more information to share, but for now, continue to make alternative grooming arrangements while I keep trying to solve these issues! Thank you as always for your support and well-wishes! I hope you and your pets are all doing well!

Happy Valentine's Day everyone! I hope you all have been well! I miss you all!

I'm unfortunately not quite out of the woods yet with my back. I'm still having some nerve pain and overall back pain. They had me do another MRI, and my surgeon and I went over the results last week. The disc came back out a bit and they've also found that there is now scar tissue on/around the nerve that could be causing pain.

They called me today to schedule a nerve block procedure to see if I still feel pain while the nerve is numbed. If that is successful, they'll schedule another nerve block. If that one is also successful, then they'll schedule an ablation procedure to burn the nerve to interfere with the pain signal and hopefully relieve that pain. If the first or second procedure doesn't work, that means the ablation won't work, so we'll be back to looking for different solutions.

I miss you all so much, I hope these issues haven't caused anyone any inconvenience. I'm thinking of you always and continuously grateful for everyone's love and patience. This all definitely hasn't gone how I planned and everything takes SO long, but I'm going to keep looking for ways to make myself better so I can get back to seeing you and your pups again! ❤️❤️

Hello everyone,

I recently went in for my 12 week post-op; things are not progressing the way I'd hoped and my surgeon says I'm not where I should be at this stage. I'm still in the same pain I was before surgery so I just went in for some more x-rays and I'm waiting for someone to call to schedule me for another MRI so we can see what the issue is and where I need to go from there. Unfortunately, this means I won't be returning in January as I'd originally hoped. 😞 I'm sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.

I can't wait until we get this issue solved - I miss seeing all of you and your sweet pups! I will do my best to make updates as I learn more! I hope everyone had a safe and happy Christmas and a happy New Year! I miss and appreciate all of you! Thank you for your continued love and support!

Surgery seems to have gone well! I have a lot of soreness/pain from the procedure, but thankfully I have some wonderful people in my life to help me around the house! Thank you all for your love and positive thoughts! I appreciate you all!

It's finally that time! I'm going in for my surgery tomorrow, so Wizard of Pawz will be temporarily closed through the rest of 2023 while I recover! I'll miss you all while I'm away, but I'm looking forward to feeling better so I can get back to working as usual! Thank you all for your love and support! I'll update as I can!

Hi everyone! I finally got a date for my back surgery, which will be October 2nd, and I'm planning on being out for at least 3 months afterwards. My schedule is currently booked up to that point for everything but nail trims, but feel free to call and ask to be added to my cancellation list in case something opens up! Thank you again for all your patience and understanding! I can't wait for this issue to be resolved so I can get back to working as normal!

Update:
My surgeon's office got back to me about my back surgery. They said it's likely that it will be booked in the fall, anytime during September, October or November. The recovery time is looking like it will be at least 3 months. 😞 My consultation is 4 weeks away and I'm hoping they'll have a better idea of the surgery date by then so I can keep everyone informed!
To those of you who have booked those months, please expect the possibility that I may have to cancel those appointments and get them rescheduled when I'm able to return to work. If anyone has questions, please call or text 517-526-5315 or send a message on Messenger.

I can't believe I'm coming up on one year already! I hope you all have had a great start to the summer! I wanted to share a few updates with everyone!

1. It doesn't hurt to call and check, but at the moment, I don't have any availability for much besides nail trims and some baths until August/September! I have a significant back injury and am currently doing rounds of injections into my spine and potentially having surgery in the future, so I've unfortunately had to space out my schedule quite a bit. Hopefully once that issue is fixed, I will have more availability again!

2. I am currently not taking on any new customers. My schedule is a bit overbooked at the moment because of my back issues and I need to make sure I have space for my regulars! Some time in the future I may start taking new customers again!

3. A reminder that when I leave a voicemail or text with my first available date, that date will not be scheduled until I get a return call or text confirming that date will work for you, and I confirm that I've got you scheduled!

Thank you so much to all my customers who are keeping me busy and for everyone's patience and understanding! I appreciate you all so much! I literally couldn't do it without you!
