A large portion of the cats in my care will remain with me due to bonding with other cats and continued connection. Few are neighborhood community roamers and nearly half are outdoor only cats that live here but also need better outdoor protection. There are around 5-8 feral or semi feral cats that arenāt people friendly, have zero desire to go back outside or live outside and are friendly knowing I care and feed them but donāt like being touched. We have maybe 10 that could be adopted for their own home that may thrive more but I have yet to find people dedicated to adopt. Itās been a challenge to find appropriate homes or people that remain in contact to do so. I am already stretched thin, as are finances, and will NOT chase people to do adoptions. If they donāt remain in contact when interested then I donāt bother.
Please know that I do NOT accept cats from outside sources and are already maxed to capacity and then some. We (me and Jason whom owns the home) take in neighborhood strays to TNR, then they typically remain in my care either by remaining on the property or inside when not showing interest in returning outdoors.
I only have maaaaybe a handful of cats that would do well being adopted alone and maybe as much being adopted with a buddy.
These are reasons we have remained around the same number of cats in our care. It changes based on neighborhood cats that may come and go. Few we lost last year likely due to a coyote in the area. More reason we need a cat fence for protection. Itās a high stress life I do my best to keep everyone happy, healthy and calm.
Thank you to everyone that continues to contribute. If youād like to adopt or help out. Donāt hesitate to contact me. Iām not as active on fb but I will get to you.
