This month, we pause to remember the beloved pets who may no longer be by our side, but will forever remain in our hearts. 🌈🐾
Our pets aren't “just animals.” They are family. They greet us at the door, comfort us on difficult days, make us laugh, and leave paw prints on our hearts that never truly fade. ❤️

Losing a pet can leave an incredibly deep emptiness. But with that loss comes a lifetime of beautiful memories—the silly moments, the cuddles, the adventures, and all the unconditional love they gave us. 🐶🐱🐰🐾

🌈 Today, we remember the ones who crossed the Rainbow Bridge.

🕊️ For the pets who taught us how to love.
🕊️ For the pets who stood by us through every chapter.
🕊️ For the pets whose paw prints will always remain on our hearts.

If you've lost a beloved pet, share their name or a favorite memory in the comments. Let's create a beautiful place to remember and celebrate the lives of the pets who meant so much to us. 💙

Gone from our sight, but never from our hearts. 🌈🐾

With love,
North Port St. Lucie Animal Hospital & Kennel 💙

🦉🐢🌿 HAPPY NATIONAL WILDLIFE DAY! 🦌🦋🐾

Today we’re celebrating the incredible wildlife that shares our world with us! 🌎💚 From tiny butterflies and busy bees to majestic birds, turtles, deer, and everything in between, every wild animal plays an important role in our ecosystem.

🌿 A few ways we can help protect wildlife:
🐢 Give wild animals plenty of space and never try to handle them unnecessarily.
🦉 Keep pets safely supervised around wildlife.
🦋 Plant native flowers and plants to provide food and shelter for pollinators.
🦌 Never feed wild animals—they are best left to find their natural food sources.
🐦 Keep outdoor areas free of trash and other hazards.
🌎 Support local wildlife rehabilitation and conservation efforts.
And remember: wild animals belong in the wild. If you find an injured or orphaned wild animal, contact a licensed wildlife rehabilitator for guidance rather than attempting to care for it yourself.

💚 Let’s protect, respect, and appreciate the amazing wildlife around us—not just today, but every day!

From all of us at North Port St. Lucie Animal Hospital & Kennel 🐾

🐾💙 ANIMAL PAIN AWARENESS MONTH 💙🐾

Our pets can’t tell us when something hurts—but they often show us. Learning to recognize the subtle signs of pain can make a huge difference in your pet’s comfort and quality of life. 🐶🐱
🚩 Signs your pet may be experiencing pain include:
• Limping or difficulty getting up 🐾
• Reluctance to climb stairs or jump
• Whining, crying, or unusual vocalizations
• Hiding or becoming less social
• Changes in appetite or drinking
• Restlessness or difficulty getting comfortable
• Excessive licking of a particular area
• Changes in grooming habits
• Panting or breathing differently when resting
• Acting unusually irritable or withdrawn
💙 Remember: Pets don't always cry or visibly limp when they're hurting. Sometimes the earliest sign is simply that they're “not acting like themselves.”

If you notice a change in your pet's behavior, don't ignore it. Pain can be caused by everything from dental disease and arthritis to injuries or underlying illness—and your veterinary team can help determine what's going on and how to keep your pet comfortable.
🐾 Because they may not be able to say “I hurt,” it's up to us to listen to what they're showing us.

🧡🐱 Ginger Cat Facts! 🐱🧡
🍊 Most ginger cats are male!
About 80% of orange/ginger cats are male because the gene responsible for their orange coloring is carried on the X chromosome.
🐾 Every ginger cat is unique!
Their coats can range from pale cream-orange to deep, rich red, with patterns including classic tabby, mackerel, spotted, and ticked.
🧡 They usually have tabby markings.
The orange color gene is closely associated with tabby patterns, which is why it's very common to see stripes, spots, or swirls on ginger cats.
👀 Their eyes come in several beautiful shades.
Ginger cats can have eyes ranging from gold and copper to green and amber.
🐈 That famous "M" on their forehead?
Many tabby cats—including ginger tabbies—have an M-shaped marking on their forehead. It's a feature of the tabby pattern, not something exclusive to orange cats.
😂 Ginger cats have a reputation for being characters!
You may hear that orange cats are extra silly, affectionate, or mischievous—but personality is influenced by many factors, and coat color doesn't reliably determine temperament.

🍊 Fun question: Is your ginger kitty a sweet snuggler, a professional troublemaker, or BOTH? 😹🧡

As pets age, dental disease becomes more common and often develops without obvious signs. In fact, many dogs and cats show signs of dental disease by age 3.

Even if your pet seems healthy, plaque and tartar can build up below the surface, potentially leading to pain, infection, and tooth loss over time. Regular dental care helps us identify concerns early, support your pet's overall health, and keep them comfortable for years to come.

Now through September 15, 2026, schedule your pet's dental cleaning and receive $50 off*.

Give your pet a healthier smile, reduce future health risks, and enjoy more happy years together. ❤️🐾
