PART 2: BLADDER STONES 💙🐾

When your pet starts having urinary issues, it’s easy to assume it’s “just a UTI” but sometimes there’s more going on beneath the surface.

Bladder stones can cause discomfort and may lead to symptoms such as:

🐾 Frequent trips outside or to the litter box
🐾 Straining to urinate
🐾 Blood in the urine
🐾 Urinating in unusual places
🐾 Licking around the urinary area
🐾 Changes in normal bathroom habits

🔎 That’s where ultrasound can help.

Ultrasound gives our veterinary team a detailed look inside the bladder and can help identify stones, sediment, bladder-wall changes, and other abnormalities that may be contributing to your pet’s symptoms.

And because not every bladder stone is the same, getting a clearer picture can help us determine what additional testing or treatment may be appropriate for your pet. 🩺💙

🐾💙 WHAT CAN ULTRASOUND HELP US FIND? — Part 1: Splenic Masses 💙🐾

Sometimes, what’s happening inside our pets isn’t obvious from the outside.

The spleen is an important organ, and changes such as masses, nodules, or enlargement may not always cause noticeable symptoms right away. That’s one reason ultrasound can be such a valuable diagnostic tool. 🔍🩺

Ultrasound allows our veterinary team to take a closer look at your pet’s internal organs in real time and may help identify abnormalities that can’t be detected during a physical exam alone.

⚠️ Signs associated with splenic disease can sometimes include weakness, pale gums, decreased appetite, lethargy, or collapse—but some pets may show no obvious signs at all.

And an important reminder: finding a splenic mass does not automatically mean cancer. Additional testing may be recommended to better understand what we’re seeing and determine the appropriate next steps.

Fresh water, regular exercise, dental care, parasite prevention, nail trims, enrichment, and routine wellness exams all play an important role in your pet’s overall health. 🐶🐱

And one of the biggest tips of all? Know what’s normal for YOUR pet. 👀
