🖤🐈‍⬛ Happy National Black Cat Appreciation Day! 🐈‍⬛🖤
Who could we possibly appreciate more than our very own Lead Receptionist, Cat Middleton?! 👑
This beautiful little lady has an important job here at Animal Emergency of Pasco—keeping the reception team on their toes, supervising the hospital, demanding attention, and, of course, reminding everyone that cats are the true bosses. 😹
Cat Middleton may be a little sassy, but she brings so much personality, love, and laughter to our hospital every single day. We’re pretty sure we couldn’t do it without her! 🖤
Give a little extra love to a black cat today! 🐾🖤

🐾 Happy Friday! 🐾
We’re heading into the weekend, which means Animal Emergency of Pasco is open tonight at 5:30 PM and will remain open straight through Monday morning to care for your pets when your regular vet is closed.
To kick things off, here’s Cat Middleton showing us how to start the weekend right—napping in her office chair and looking sweeter than pumpkin pie in her adorable dress. 🍂🐱💕

They say camping soothes the soul… and while we’re sure this precious girl would have preferred her tent not be located in the ER, she loved it all the same! (She also enjoyed the room-service). It was a pleasure to hang out with this old girl - what a sweetheart 💝

We know how scary it is to let your pets “go in the back” while at our ER. We can assure you, your babies receive lots of cuddles and attention. But, if we’re being honest, sometimes it’s us that need the cuddles! This sweet girl was nervous getting her IV catheter and melted into our tech’s arms… which in turn melted our hearts 💙. On a particularly tough day - Phanny’s cuddles were exactly what the doctor ordered!!

“Ugh… you try running an ER all weekend and see how perky you feel on Monday.” 😴
Cat Middleton supervised emergencies, kept the staff on task, AND graciously accepted countless head scratches. 🐾
It’s exhausting being this fabulous.
We’re open tonight 5:30pm-8:00 am - in case your furkids decide to keep life interesting after hours.

💦☀️ Pool Days & Water Safety ☀️💦

Spending the day by the pool is a Florida favorite—but did you know that drinking too much water while playing can be dangerous for your pet?

🌊 Dogs who fetch toys, bite at splashes, or gulp pool water while swimming are at risk for water intoxication—a rare but serious condition that can cause:

⚠️ Lethargy
⚠️ Vomiting
⚠️ Weakness or stumbling
⚠️ Seizures
⚠️ Swelling of the belly

To stay safe:
✅ Offer plenty of breaks
✅ Provide fresh drinking water
✅ Limit repetitive water retrieval games
✅ Watch for signs of bloating or odd behavior

If you’re concerned your pet may have ingested too much water, don’t wait—emergencies can escalate quickly.

We’re here evenings, weekends, and holidays when your vet’s office is closed.

🔥 Heat Advisory = Maximum Nap Mode! 🔥
Cat Middleton has declared today a “no-movement” kind of day—and honestly, she’s onto something. 😴👑

Keep those smush-faced pups (looking at you, Pugs & Frenchies!) inside where it’s cool. This heat isn’t cute.

☀️ Hot Weekend = Beach Time! But be careful—saltwater and pets don’t always mix! 🌊🐾

If your pup drinks too much Gulf water, it can lead to saltwater toxicity—causing vomiting, diarrhea, dehydration, and even seizures.

⚠️ Watch for:
• Excessive drooling
• Weakness or wobbliness
• Confusion or tremors

👉 Bring plenty of fresh water and take shady breaks!
If your beach day turns into an emergency, we’re here this weekend.
