Courtesy reminder to drop off at your scheduled 15 minute drop off time and pick up promptly.

We don’t want your pet ending up like the skeleton crew outside! 😉

We are a 1-1 groomer, some of our client pets are anxious, immune compromised, aggressive, etc, so arriving late can drastically impact another pet’s groom.

As always, if you arrive early, feel free to check the red/green light above the front door :)

Thank you for your understanding!

Good Wednesday Morning.
Sammie and Jack are still together, still hoping to find an adopter who will keep them that way. Local breed rescues have been contacted; they are doing what they can to help, but there are no foster homes available. Let's help these best friends' adopter find them!

Jack and Sammie are gorgeous 10-year-old siblings who are hoping to remain together in a home. Jack is a male brindle boxer; he weighs about 65 pounds. Sammie is a female brindle boxer; she weighs 55 pounds.

The pair have lived with other dogs in the past. However, we are told they are not especially welcoming when meeting new dogs. It sounds as though a home without other dogs would be best. We imagine they must think that they have each other; they don't need anyone else! For a short time, they lived with a cat they were kept away from. Once the cat was in the same room, they ignored the cat. Sammie and Jack have been GREAT with kids.

At this time, the siblings can stay together alone in their house, though they have been known to get into the garbage if it is left out. Jack and Sammie can manage a while between potty breaks. When their person is home, they enjoy going in and out of the house into a fenced yard as they please. Sammie and Jack will let you know when someone is at the door by barking. Aside from that, they are reportedly not barky dogs.

Walking these two together could be a workout. You must be able to handle their size and strength or have another person along to take one dog. Jack and Sammie will pull on leash out of excitement, and they will lunge at other dogs when they see them. This is all very typical dog behavior! Some training classes could help, as well as harnesses that inhibit pulling. Sammie and Jack can still manage stairs. We are told they like to play fetch, but they do tire quickly. One could consider providing them with joint health support supplements to help them stay moving well.

Jack and Sammie are current on vaccinations, but neither dog has had recent lab work or a urinalysis. Jack's left eye is a little cloudy, but it does not seem to affect his vision at this time. One should plan on providing each dog with regular, lifelong veterinary care and good quality dog food.

These siblings and best friends are said to be "sweet, good listeners, who love to play". While their person says they'll consider separating them, they would rather find a home for them together if possible.

Sammie and Jack are located in Puyallup, WA. For contact information please email: [email protected]

These are not Old Dog Haven dogs. Old Dog Haven has not assessed these dogs for medical issues and will not be responsible for medical care after adoption. We urge prospective adopters to do their own evaluation.

🐾 THIS is what a positive grooming experience looks like. 🐾

Meet Roxy.

She has been coming to Pauly’s Paw Spa since she was just a puppy, and apparently she still remembers exactly how this works! 😂

She jumps straight onto my grooming table, ready to get to work, and then immediately covers me in kisses.

I stopped taking new large dogs more than five years ago, but dogs like Roxy are the exception.

Why?

Because when a dog has been gently acclimated to grooming from a young age, understands the routine, trusts their groomer, and has had consistently positive experiences, grooming can become something they genuinely feel comfortable with.

That relationship matters.

After more than 20 years of grooming and over a decade of building Pauly’s Paw Spa, I believe the goal isn't simply to make a dog look beautiful.

It's to help them feel safe while they're here, too.

And it's families—and dogs—like Roxy who remind me why I love what I do.

If you appreciate a groomer who prioritizes your pet's comfort, trust, and individualized care, I'd be incredibly grateful for your vote!

Will the 3rd time be the charm for Asher? He’s had no inquiries from our first 2 posts but we are not quitters! We hope you’ll join us today with another share for Asher. 🤞🙏🐾

9-year-old Asher is a very handsome fellow. He is a 68-pound yellow lab and American Foxhound. Asher has decided he would rather not live in a home with children, so we hope to help him find that home!

Asher has lived with other dogs his size and smaller. We are told he is good with other dogs, but he will bark at cats. He has visited a home with a cat but never lived with one. His behavior may bother cats, so our suggestion would be that Asher have a cat-free home.

This boy has so many things going for him! He is very smart. Asher knows many verbal commands. He went through 2 years of training, learning to find and search! If you are a person who enjoys an active, intelligent job and finding things for them to do, Asher could be a good fit for you.

Asher is kennel-trained, managing quite a few hours between potty breaks. He has been fine staying alone in his home when his humans leave the house. Of course, he should be given time to acclimate to a new home and routine. We would all hope for that if our lives suddenly changed dramatically, right?

Walks are appreciated by Asher and enjoyed by the person at the other end of his leash because of his training. Asher loves to play with his toys and fetch too. He can do stairs without a problem at this time. When it's time to relax, Asher is good at that too. He loves to sit and receive affection from his humans. He will bark when he sees strangers outside but he is good about stopping when he's told to.
Asher is described as "a very sweet dog who will fill his owners with absolute joy". This awesome dog is ready to complete an adult-only home.

Asher is located in Olympia, WA. For contact information please email: [email protected]

This is not an Old Dog Haven dog. Old Dog Haven has not assessed this dog for medical issues and will not be responsible for medical care after adoption. We urge prospective adopters to do their own evaluation.

Have you ever witnessed a dog SO excited they are shrieking and pulling their owner into the destination? 😂

Well, that’s Ms Brackley! I can literally hear her from the car, clawing and whining to get out of her car. She was a Pauly’s Pals daycare client way back from 2016 and always gets some play time here in the salon even now that we’re just a tiny grooming facility.

If that kind of individualized care matters to you, I'd be honored to have your vote!

Have you ever walked into a grooming salon and immediately smelled...

🤢Pet urine?
🧐 Musty air?
🫣 Wet dog?

There's a reason those smells can linger.

And it's not something I ever want you—or your pet—to experience at Pauly's Paw Spa.

Keeping a grooming salon truly clean isn't just about making things *look* clean. Between dogs, there can be moisture, hair, dander, bacteria, and organic matter left behind on surfaces and equipment.

That's why cleaning and disinfecting are such an important part of my daily routine.

These are just a few of the products I use to help keep my salon **clean, fresh, sanitary, and odor-free**—while choosing products that are safe for the pets in my care and gentle enough for my own sensitive body.

Because your dog deserves more than a pretty haircut.

They deserve a clean, comfortable environment from the moment they walk through the door.

And after more than 20 years of grooming, I've learned that it's often the little things behind the scenes that make the biggest difference.

If that kind of individualized care matters to you, I'd be honored to have your vote!

HAVE YOU FELT LIKE YOU’VE BEEN SHOPPING AROUND FOR GROOMERS YOUR DOG’S ENTIRE LIFE?

If you’ve ever struggled to find a groomer who truly understands your dog, you are definitely not alone.
And honestly, that’s one of the reasons I created my VIP Puppy Package 8 years ago. ❤️
I wanted to create something that helps puppies learn from the very beginning that grooming doesn’t have to be scary.
Once a puppy has received their rabies vaccination, we begin slowly introducing them to the sights, sounds, smells, handling and sensations of professional grooming — one small step at a time.

The goal isn't just to get a haircut.
It’s to help create a dog who can grow up feeling safe, confident and comfortable with grooming.

Because when you find a groomer you trust, you shouldn't have to keep shopping around.

And speaking of something I’m incredibly grateful for…
Pauly’s Paw Spa has been nominated for BEST PET GROOMER in Kitsap County!
If you’ve trusted me with your dogs, cats, puppies, seniors, nervous babies or special-needs pets over the years, I would be so incredibly grateful for your vote.
