What an incredible first round at the NJRA Junior Rodeo Finals in Silverdale! 🤠🔥

Our two JOY Equine young men took the top two spots in chute do***ng:

🥇 Ryland Rosas — 3.039 seconds
🥈 John Siegrist — 3.761 seconds

I’m extremely proud of both of these young men—their courage, grit, hard work, and willingness to step into the arena and compete.

Tomorrow is the second and final round, and we’re excited to see how it all turns out. Regardless of the final standings, these two are already representing JOY Equine well!

Congratulations, Ryland and John! Finish strong! 💚⁴🐴

There’s nothing quite like the energy behind the bucking chutes! 🤠🔥

The nerves. The focus. The encouragement. The quiet moments before the gate opens—and the explosion of grit when it does.

Today, we celebrate every young man and young woman who stepped into the arena at the NJRA Junior Rodeo Finals in Silverdale. Whether you took home a buckle, beat your personal best, learned a hard lesson, or simply found the courage to compete—you have something to be proud of.

It takes grit to enter. Courage to compete. And character to keep coming back.

Congratulations to all the contestants, families, volunteers, coaches, and supporters who make junior rodeo such an incredible community!

A great day at the NJRA Junior Rodeo Finals in Silverdale, Washington, with two of our JOY Equine students, Ryland and John! 🤠🐴

Both young men are competing in chute do***ng, and Ryland is also competing in tie-down roping.

We’re proud of their courage, grit, horsemanship, and willingness to keep learning. Rodeo develops far more than athletic ability—it builds responsibility, confidence, humility, and character.

Ride hard, compete with integrity, take care of your horse, and enjoy the journey. Let’s go, young men! 💚⁴

For several years, I have wrestled with how to describe the unhealthy power imbalance between large corporations and the smaller contractors and workers who actually perform the work.

I believe the clearest description is corporate feudalism.

Smaller companies may technically be independent, but when a dominant customer controls access to the work, dictates the price, writes every contractual term and transfers most of the risk downward, that independence can become an illusion.
My new article, “Corporate Feudalism: When Capitalism Loses Its Conscience,” challenges these practices—but it also offers a better way forward.

I believe capitalism can be a tremendous force for good when power is submitted to principle and business relationships are built around reciprocal accountability, human dignity and the opportunity for everyone to prosper.

We do not need to move the hammer from one side of the table to the other. We need to stop treating business relationships like someone must always be holding a hammer.

Technology and infrastructure should serve people. Not the other way around.
