Mountain Pets Mountain Pets offers dog and small animal boarding at our home and farm sitting at your home. The business was founded as an LLC in April 2019.

We offer homestyle lodging for dogs, birds and small critters such as guinea pigs, rabbits, and reptiles and we offer farm sitting for any type of animals with a specialization in general horse care. Mountain Pets is located on 180-acres within the beautiful Bald Eagle Valley in Port Matilda, Pennsylvania and serves clients in the State College area and throughout Centre County.

​A pet sitting business that prides itself in offering a unique and personalized pet boarding experience as well as hard to find professional farm sitting care. The physical location for the business is our residence, so we are not open to the public except for drop off and pick up of boarding clients by appointment.

I haven’t posted lately about the new bearded dragon so here’s an update. He’s a male and is appropriately named Odysseus. He had a mild case of metabolic bone disease (MBD) which started in his left leg due to the improper conditions in which he was kept prior to me obtaining him. I believe to have halted the disease, but the deformity in his leg will be with him for life. You can see the slight twist in his left leg in one of the pictures. Proper lighting, temps and diet is critical for these guys. Recently, I have been playing with puzzle feeders to stretch his brain and provide enrichment in his day. These dragons are trainable and he’s catching on, but as with the puzzle pictured (which is really for a bunny), it only works if the bugs leave the container! The dubia roaches in there were appropriately suspicious of the world outside lol. Odysseus can see them, but he can’t get to them, so that one will need more experimentation with less suspecting bugs!
