Golden Paste is excellent for reducing inflammation. I used to make this often with my old dogs and myself . It will hold in the fridge for about 5-7 days. Add it to soups and pasta. It may take your dog a bit to get used to it so add it a little bit at a time building up to a teaspoon.

The Trump Federal Trade Commission (FTC) is investigating veterinary consolidation amid petflation costs.

The Trump FTC has issued Civil Investigative Demands (CIDs)—legally binding requests requiring companies to produce documents and information—to all parties involved in the proposed Covetrus-MWI Animal Health merger as part of an investigation into potential antitrust concerns.

If approved, the merger would reduce the number of major national veterinary distributors from three to two, with the combined Covetrus-MWI company controlling up to 75 percent of the market.

Local antitrust attorney Joel Thayer told the Daily Caller the merger would dramatically reshape the veterinary distribution market, arguing it would leave one company with overwhelming control over prices and terms.

“It’s looking more like it’s going from, instead of a 3 to 2, it’s looking like it’s going to a 2 to 1, where one company is going to basically dictate all the terms and prices for that type of veterinary service.”

Research from the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) has also found that some pet owners have surrendered their animals because they could no longer afford or access necessary veterinary care.

Recent numbers also show that 22 percent of pet owners now carry more than $2,000 in pet-related debt, as the lifetime cost of owning a dog has climbed to roughly $35,000, with the cost of owning a cat not far behind, according to a Gallup poll.

A neighbor and his dog on our mountain in Taylor Township (Centre County, PA) west of Port Matilda both got bit by a rabid fox 🦊 on Wednesday, July 15 near their home on Bell Hollow / SR 220.

The neighbor dispatched it and the Game Commission had a necropsy done to confirm rabies.

Currently 2 people have been bit and numerous pets so please be aware of your surroundings and make sure your pets are vaccinated for rabies.

Foxes are raising their kits / fox pups right now!! Rabies can be transmitted via lactation.

So where there is one there are probably more! It is probably being transferred to other wildlife too like raccoons 🦝 and skunks 🦨 so be wary!

Range for a fox is about 10 acres but if a dog or other species gets bit that travels farther it can affect larger areas.

Be extra careful around ANY wildlife seen during the day that tends to only come out at night like foxes, raccoons or skunks even if they aren’t acting aggressive. Have no contact with any body fluids of these animals or anything they killed.

🎆If you have an animal who struggles with loud noises this time of year, here are a few remedies to keep in mind.

When well-matched, these remedies can offer calm without sedation — a gentle nudge to the nervous system that helps animals feel safe in their own skin.

If this kind of fear comes up every year, though, or seems to be part of a bigger pattern, there’s more that can be done. A qualified homeopathic vet can help support your animal at a deeper level — not just in moments of crisis, but in their overall resilience.
