Still in the dark over here. The planned power outage continues, but we are still able to be reached via phone or email and seeing appointments. Hang in there neighbors - we hear it is going to last until 3:30.

🦊 Fox Update! 🦊

The little kit has been doing very well after surgery! She was recently in to have her splint removed here Halfmoon Valley Animal Hospital. Her bones are healing well and we hope she continues to thrive. She still has a very long way to go with lots of needed rest and rehab.

Technician Angela is all smiles holding the little cutie. Dr. Amy Olson removed the splint after Dr. Jeff Miller gave his blessing based on her x-rays. We were very thankful to see her do so well.

Thank you to Centre Wildlife Care for their great work in our community.

🇺🇸 Memorial Day - Closed 🇺🇸

We will be closed on Monday for Memorial Day and resume normal hours on Tuesday.

This is also a gentle reminder to call if you need medication refills before the long weekend. ❤️

🦊 It's been a minute since our last post at Halfmoon Valley Animal Hospital. The month of April flew by with us being busy and blessed. 🦊

Here at Halfmoon it is a privilege to help animals in need and Dr. Jeff Miller has created a legacy of assisting with Centre Wildlife Care and their veterinary needs. We were able to assist this baby fox kit that has multiple fractures. In the photos you will see Dr. Miller doing surgery to place a pin to hold her leg bones together and you can see a picture of her splint on the other leg. Yes, she has broken bones in both back legs the poor thing! She is as sweet and as brave as can be. We wish her all the best!

You will also see in the photos Dr. Miller's assistant surgeon. Our question is - what's better than one Dr. Miller? .... Two Dr. Millers! Dr. Kayla Miller assisted him. How awesome that she is able to learn from the best!?!

The sweet baby recovered from her surgery and is back in the care of Centre Wildlife. We hope her recovery continues well.

Today, as we look to give back in our community, it is wonderful to think of the wildlife and the great work that Centre Wildlife is doing.

P.s. She also did not have much to say and was very quiet. 🤣 🎵 🎶

Heads-up! There is a route closure on your way to us. Alternate routes from State College would be taking Meeks Lane to 550 or Skytop and going over the mountain in Port Matilda.

***ROUTE 550 TRAVELERS***

West Buffalo Run Road is currently shut down between Meeks Lane and Carson's Corner (N Atherton St) while the power company works to replace a downed pole. Please adjust your travel plans accordingly if this is a regular route for you during your morning commute. It is unknown when the road will reopen.

Has spring break week been treating you well? 🌴🌨 🌧

From sunshine to snow falls - or was that a snow sprinkle before the rainstorm? Either way thank heavens nothing accumulated. This week has been crazy 🤪 at Halfmoon Valley Animal Hospital.

We saw fluffy puppies (Keeshonds - so cute!) and loved on old friends and new! Dr. Jeff Miller even came in for an emergency surgery - he's the best!

We hope all of our are doing well - those both traveling and those that stayed home this week. Take care!
