Fence weekend
What an exciting weekend as we were able to work on a long awaited fence expansion project! It started with a rental of post driver, driving 101 posts into the ground. There is still lots to do over time such as putting up the actual fencing itself as well as gates, putting up post sponsor signs for our Path of Neighbors, managing weeds, etc. but it is progress! Thank you to those who contributed towards fence posts to help make this project happen!

What a beautiful day on Saturday for FIVE mini horse hikes! We had such a great time with all our guests at Morning Glory Acres! Swipe to the end to see our smallest miniature horse, June, meet maybe the tallest Holstein steer ever, Stew!

ONE time slot remaining for THIS Saturday at Morning Glory Acres! Send us an email to schedule!

🐴🍁Coming in OCTOBER! We are running special Fall Foliage Miniature Horse Hikes! These MUST BE BOOKED IN ADVANCE by sending us an email at [email protected].

Please note The Mini Whinnies at Quarter Acre Wood barn is NOT open for drop ins during normal weeks or during this ‘special event., however, our special fall foliage hikes at Morning Glory Acres (MGA) will take place during regular open hours.

Hikes are $50 total at MGA (1-6 participants may attend at this rate).
Hike times available (please note some times may no longer be available as we will not update this list regularly):

at Morning Glory Acres (Howard, PA):
•Saturday, October 10 (5:30PM remaining!)

at The Mini Whinnies at Quarter Acre Wood (Port Matilda, PA):
(dates/times TBA)

Additional Information:
•Hikes must be booked in advance by emailing [email protected]
•Guests will be asked to pay via PayPal at time of booking.
•Hikes will take place sprinkling RAIN or SHINE (unless we are expecting heavy rain in which case we will cancel and you will receive a full refund)—the weather for THIS SATURDAY looks beautiful!
•Once a hike time is booked, we cannot refund unless we cancel due to heavy rain.
•Hikes will be approximately 30 minutes in duration, including a brief training on how to lead/handle a Miniature Horse because you the participants get to walk a Miniature Horse!
•Hikes will take place on mostly flat grassy ground and be a light walking pace.
•These hikes are beginner friendly (if you’re new to horses and hiking!)

Note: this post features hike date/times for hikes taking place at Morning Glory Acres (345 Tracey Dale Road, Howard, PA 16841). A post will come soon featuring dates/times for hikes on our barn property once we are seeing a bit more fall foliage!

June and Sweetie stopped by Morning Glory Acres this past weekend to get a feel for the property again with all the new animals! We are excited that we will be doing some off-site Mini Horse Hikes at Morning Glory Acres this fall as well as have them there to visit during the day! Keep an eye out for the date and information to book a time slot!

Fun fact, the Morning Glory Acres property is where we kept our horses before moving in 2020 and officially starting The Mini Whinnies at Quarter Acre Wood in 2021! There have certainly been a lot of changes, but sweetie still recognized some familiar places around the property. Sweetie and June got to meet many new faces Esther the hinny, Eeyore the mini donkey, a bunch of mini pigs, goats, kittens and Malachi the sheep! We already saw some fall colors peaking through on the property so keep watching for an update on fall foliage hikes!

We’re headed to the Pleasant Gap Fall Festival THIS SATURDAY 12-2pm. We’ll have a pair of mini horses to pet and brush and there will be lots of other fun fall activities there!

This week we visited Morning Glory Acres Morning Glory Acres to meet their new sheep and plan an event in collaboration with our Miniature Horses for this fall! Stay tuned for more information coming soon!
