HEARTBREAKER SUNDAY..

Yesterday, SUNDAY,, We got a call from someone wanting to donate some Doggie items to the Sanctuary.. No name was given.
Early in the Afternoon a SUV backed up to our main door - opened the hatch up and began to unload some much needed items - like p*e pads & fluffy dog beds.. The woman unloading these said .. "These are for Frankie" .. I said I would be sure and let Frankie know they are donated in his honor.. She then said "Can I See Frankie?" Sure! I said, and carried him out to the entryway where she was standing.. FRANKIE nearly jumped out of my arms to get to this Lady - his tail was wagging in a full circle, he began to whine & cry and lick her face with full force.. I was flabbergasted.. WAIT... WAIT... WAS THIS?? FRANKIES FORMER OWNER ??? It HAD to be.... As an aside.. Once a doggie is surrendered to ISHAS we do not allow the former owners to visit with the doggie they surrendered.. It confuses the dog & then we have to start back to square one of getting them to trust & love us.. The dog will think they are going back to their former home and then be let down when they (once again) leave..
As we looked into the SUV driver - it dawned on us THAT was the person (daughter of owner) who brought FRANKIE to us.. DANG.. This poor little guy.. I never saw him so happy.. Now, he is pouting.. He had some "Magic Chicken" (which is freeze dried chicken that he loves) with me this morning.. But nothing is going to make him happier than his Mama.. Tears were shed .. Sure wish the daughter would re-consider allowing her Mother to keep her dog.. as for now, it is NOT. But, this Mama can not care for FRANKE anymore, Poor Frankie.. Anyone want to come & spend some time with Frankie?? Give us a call..

Wish List: Science Diet dog food, cleaning supplies such as trash bags, laundry soap, paper towels, postage stamps, gas cards, hooded cat litter boxes, clumping multi cat cat litter, dog biscuits, cat treats, dog shampoo/conditioner, rabbit food, guinea pig food, Pedigree canned food and dog toys.

The shelter dogs are in desperate need of new bedding. The most needed size is the 30x20.
