🐾 Can You Guess What This Dog Swallowed? 🔍

Daisy came to Groves Veterinary Clinic after her owners discovered that she had been chewing up the carpet.

The interesting part?
🐶 Acting completely normal.
🐶 No vomiting.
🐶 No obvious signs of illness.

Despite the lack of symptoms, our veterinary team recommended abdominal X-rays to check for swallowed foreign material.

🔎 Take a close look at this X-ray. Do you see anything that shouldn’t be there?

Here’s the important lesson: Just because your pet is acting normal doesn’t always mean everything is normal on the inside.

Pets can swallow foreign objects and initially show no symptoms. Diagnostic imaging can help us identify a potential problem before it becomes a medical emergency.

💬 What do you think this dog swallowed? Leave your guess in the comments! 📸 Check back tomorrow to see what we found and what happened next.

❤️ One of Our Favorite Parts of Veterinary Medicine: Feeling Better

This sweet boy was recently treated for pancreatitis—inflammation of the pancreas that can range from mild to very serious.

Some signs pet owners should watch for include:
🤢 Vomiting or nausea
🍽️ Decreased appetite
😴 Lethargy or weakness
🐾 Abdominal pain or discomfort
💩 Diarrhea

Pets can’t tell us exactly what’s wrong. Changes in appetite, energy or behavior can sometimes be the first clue that they need veterinary attention. If you notice a sudden change, give us a call. 🐾

🐾 Meet Elvis! 🐱💙

Sweet Elvis was in for his neuter — and, of course, received plenty of extra cuddles while he was here!

Neutering is an important part of preventive care. For male cats, it:

🐾 Prevents unwanted litters
🐾 Decreases risk of certain cancers
🐾 Can reduce roaming and urine marking
🐾 Can reduce other hormone-driven behaviors
🐾 Promotes a calmer, more affectionate temperament

When should you neuter?
Spaying or neutering is recommended by about 5 months of age. Cats can become reproductively active as early as 4–5 months!

Have a new kitten? Ask us when it’s time to schedule their spay or neuter. ❤️

Healthy pets start with prevention.

🐾 WELLNESS VISITS COME WITH KISSES. ❤️

Sometimes they come with a few extra hugs…and a LOT of kisses. 😂

Regular wellness visits give us a chance to get to know your pet while keeping an eye on the things they can’t tell us about. Depending on your pet’s age and needs, that may include a physical exam, routine bloodwork, vaccines and preventive care.

And apparently, showing our team a little appreciation. 🐶💋
