When your pet has spent time outside make sure to check them well for ticks. Ticks will attach to any part of the body but seem to like ears, arm pits, between the toes, under the collar, and around the tail.

Cytauxzoonosis or Bobcat Fever has recently made its way to the news. It is an infectious disease transmitted by ticks to felines, including domestic cats. Symptoms include depression, lethargy, and lack of appetite. Treatment includes antibiotics and supportive care but prevention is best. Use flea and tick prevention year round and especially if your cat goes outside at all.

🐾 Vet Camp Day 5 🐾 Yesterday we wrapped up Vet Camp. Campers learned about first aid and CPR. They also learned how about bandaging. Special thanks Quad Cities Search and Rescue for speaking with us and demonstrating their skills!

🐾Vet Camp day 4 featured Officer Glenn from Rock Island County Animal Control. We learned about the shelter, the importance of safety around animals, why we should spay and neuter, and all about surgery! Another busy day!
