JOY. FULL STOP.

She came to us at 15.

And at her first vet visit, Joy was diagnosed with advanced lymphoma. It should have been a very short road.

But Joy had other plans.

She remained symptom-free for months — longer than anyone expected. Long enough to settle in, to be loved on, to enjoy the simple, quiet rhythm of daily life.

She didn’t just exist in those months.

She got to live them.

That kind of time is a gift. And it was made possible by the amazing fosters who surrounded her with care.

Pam — your commitment, your patience, your love, and your willingness to open your home to a 15-year-old dog with a terminal diagnosis… it changed everything for her.

And Patti — stepping in as a friend, a neighbor, and part of Joy’s circle — you helped make sure she was surrounded by love, even through her final moments.

Because of you both, her final chapter was filled with warmth, consistency, kindness and so much love.

In the end, her cancer progressed, and she developed a tumor in her mouth.

Today, she told us it was time.

And we listened.

Nearly sixteen years.

More good days than expected.

And a peaceful, love-filled ending.

We’re so grateful we got to know you, Joy.

And so grateful for the people who made your last months so special.

Run free, sweet girl.

HOME. FOUND. ❤️

It’s been a week over here—in the best way.

From our Woodland Forest litter, Fisher, Hawk, Kit and Wren have all headed off to their new homes over the past few days. And from our Pasta crew, Penne is officially onto her next chapter too.

These are the moments that make the sleepless nights, the endless laundry, the vet runs—all of it—worth it. Watching them walk out the door with their people never gets old.

But don’t get too comfortable… puppy season isn’t over.

We still have several incredible puppies waiting for their turn.

Different personalities, same story: they just need someone to choose them.

If you’ve been thinking about adding a puppy to your life, this is your sign.

Their next chapter is waiting—maybe it’s with you.

Puppy Season is still going strong.

Mama Guido arrived the other day with her puppies in tow.

These little ones are about 8 weeks old—right at that fun, personality-packed stage.

If they look a little familiar, you’re not wrong. This group shares some roots with our Woodland Forest litter, our Pasta puppies, and even a few of our adult dogs. Same family line, just the next chapter.

This litter is part of our Last Litter Program, which is designed to support families in making this their final litter—helping ensure Mama gets spayed and the cycle comes to a close in a way that’s better for everyone.

We’re really glad we get to be part of this next step for this entire crew.

Yesterday was something special.

A huge, heartfelt thank you to Barhop Brewing & Artisan Pizza Sequim for hosting us and creating such a welcoming space for our crew. We’re so grateful for your support of rescue dogs and this community.

To our staff and volunteers — you were incredible. Managing 10 puppies and 6 adult dogs in a busy environment is no small task, and you handled it with patience, care, and so much heart. It showed in every interaction.

And to everyone who came out — thank you. Truly. Showing up, spending time with the dogs, asking questions, and opening your hearts to them means everything.

We’ll be sorting through applications today, and it’s looking like some really great matches may have been made.

Grateful doesn’t even begin to cover it.

Not funny, universe… not funny.

Of course the forecast shows rain right from 4–6pm. Naturally.

Good news: we don’t care.
The party is still on.

That’s what pop-up tents are for.

The puppies will be dry, the vibes will be intact—and if you need a break from the weather (I mean, let's be honest - this is Sequim - we'll be just fine), there’s beer and pizza inside.

Come get your puppy fix. Rain or shine — we’ll be there.

Come get your puppy fix.

Tomorrow. 4–6pm at Barhop Brewing & Artisan Pizza Sequim

Beer, pizza, and a whole crew of really, really good dogs.

Puppies will be there (obviously)… but so will some amazing adult dogs who are just as ready to meet their people.

No pressure. Just come hang out, meet them, and soak it all in.

They’re 8 weeks old… and just like that, Rabbit’s puppies are starting to fly the coop.

We couldn’t resist sharing this family photo as Fawn headed off to her next chapter. It’s one of those moments that hits a little harder—seeing them all together, knowing this is exactly what we’ve been working toward.

Fawn is off to start her new life, and while we’re so excited for her, there’s always that bittersweet piece as this chapter closes and the next begins.

Rabbit did an incredible job raising this crew, and now it’s their turn to go out into the world—one by one—finding their people.

More pups will be heading home soon… and we’ll be soaking up these last moments while we can.

Be still my heart… these two.

They’re still just pups, but honestly? Totally perfect. We placed two of their relatives last week and the updates rolling in say it all—these are exceptional family dogs.

Meet the new kids on the block:

Wrinkles - Soft, squishy, and exactly what you want him to be. Wrinkles is that easygoing, go-with-the-flow kind of pup who just fits wherever you put him. Moderate energy, super gentle, loves everyone he meets, great with kids and other animals, and already housebroken. He’s the kind of dog who makes you look like you really have your life together.

[ADOPTED🥳] Bluey (aka Romeo… just look at those eyes)
Yeah… he knows what he’s doing. He has that “stare into your soul and now you belong to me” thing down. Sweet, affectionate, and just as easy as they come. Moderate energy, super fun, loves people, great with kids and other animals, housebroken—and yes, also literal perfection. No notes.

Truly—these are the dogs people hope for and rarely find.

Scoop one up now.
And if they’re somehow still here, you can meet them at Barhop next week (Tuesday, 4–6). But don’t count on that 😉

Lars has one of those faces that stops you mid-scroll.

Those eyes? Intense. Practically glowing.

He looks like he’s about to deliver some very serious news… and then he immediately hits you with full-body wiggles that completely undo it all.

That’s his superpower.
And it works every time.

Lars is a Plott Hound who was found running in the forest with his friend Olga (now Maybel), who already made her way to her forever home. Now it’s his turn.

He’s equal parts striking and ridiculous — the kind of dog who looks cool from across the yard and then melts into a wiggly, happy, absolutely irresistible mess the second you meet him.

He’ll be hanging out with us at Barhop on Tuesday April 21st from 4-6pm and he wants to meet you.

But fair warning: if he uses his superpower on you, you’re toast.

The puppies may be stealing the spotlight lately…but we’ve had some adoptions happening behind the scenes that we’re really excited about 🥹

First up — Poppy.

Poppy just landed herself the kind of home we hope for every dog. She’s got space to run, people to love her, and best of all…a doggy sister who she already thinks is pretty darn fun.

And the real kicker? She gets to go to work with her humans — which she thinks is the absolute bees knees.

Honestly, it’s a perfect match. And we couldn’t be happier for her.

Have so much fun Poppy girl. We are so happy for you!

They partied hard… and it shows 😴🐶

The puppies had the time of their lives at our first ever Pop Up Puppy Party—and we are so proud of them. They handled so many new faces like total pros.

And you guys… that turnout. So many kind, patient, amazing humans came out to spend time with them. It meant a lot.

If you missed it, come see us next Tuesday, the 21st at Barhop, Sequim from 4–6pm—the puppies will be there and we’re bringing the adult dogs too, so even more to meet.

Thank you for showing up for them the way you did 💛

Oh, and if you took photos, tag us or send them our way. We are dying to see them!
