In observance of Memorial Day, Hicks Animal Hospital will be closed Saturday May 23rd, Sunday May 24th and Monday May 25th. We will reopen Tuesday May 26th at 7:30 am. Dr. Hicks and her staff wish everyone a safe holiday.

Dr. Hicks, after several decades of serving pets in Butler County and surrounding counties, will no longer be available for emergencies after 10pm on any given night.
If you have an emergency after 10pm, please contact Veterinary Specialty Services (VSS) in St. Louis 636-227-9400 ( 24/7) or Allied Animal ER in Jonesboro AR, 870-316-6281, Fri-Sun 7am to 11pm.
This decision was not made lightly, and I believe I speak for all the staff at Hicks Animal Hospital and our many clients when we say we respect her decision.

Dr. Joseph Baker is remembered as a dedicated veterinarian by animals and people across Southeast Missouri, especially in Dexter and Poplar Bluff. His family accepted a state award on his behalf almost a year after his passing. To them, his true impact is immeasurable.
