Ghost: The Sleepy Sweetheart Who Haunts Your Lap 👻💛
Don’t be scared. It’s just Ghost — 4 months old, and the most loveable ghost you’ll ever meet.
No chains, no spooky noises. Just snores.
Personality Report, straight from Ghost himself:
Sleepy Boy. Ghost has mastered the art of the nap. Morning nap. Afternoon nap. Post-walk nap. Pre-dinner nap. Nap to prepare for nap. He’s 4 months old but lives like a retired grandpa who just discovered how good a warm blanket is. You think you’re going to get a hyper puppy? You’re getting a weighted blanket with a heartbeat. He’ll play, yes — but his favorite adventure is from the couch to your lap to the dog bed and back to your lap.
Sweetheart. Under all that sleepy is pure sugar. Ghost is the kind of puppy who looks at you with those soft eyes and you just melt. Gentle, tender, wiggly when he’s happy. He doesn’t know a stranger — just friends he hasn’t cuddled yet.
Loves to be Loved. Ghost doesn’t just like love. He requires it. It’s his love language, his job, his hobby. Pets? Yes. Baby talk? Absolutely. Forehead kisses? Mandatory. Tell him he’s a good boy and he will literally swoon into your arms. He wants to be adored, cherished, pampered — and he will adore you right back ten times over.
Loves Cuddling. If cuddling was an Olympic sport, Ghost would have a gold medal. He is a professional lap warmer, a chest-leaner, a chin-tucker, a “let me rest my big puppy head on your foot” expert. He doesn’t just cuddle near you, he cuddles into you. You will never be cold again.
Can Be A Bit Bossy With Other Dogs. Okay, here’s the one tiny boo in the sheet. Ghost can be a little bossy with other dogs. Not mean — just... opinionated. He’s like, “This toy is mine. This bed is mine. You are also mine.” He’s still a baby learning manners, so he needs a family who will set kind boundaries, do slow intros, and maybe let him be the only ghost in the house, or pair him with a tolerant, easygoing dog who doesn’t mind a little puppy sass. He’s great with people — dogs just need a proper meet-and-greet.
Hoping to find a loving family who will take him for walks and give him plenty of cuddles. That’s it. That’s his dream. A walk to sniff everything, then home for a big, long cuddle. Walks for the nose, cuddles for the soul. He’s 4 months: vaccinated, microchipped, ready for training and ready to go home and start his new life as your official house ghost.
No haunting required. He just wants to haunt your lap forever.

Ghost’s Details:
Age: 4 months old
Status: Puppy | Ready for adoption
Vibe: Sleepy, sweet, cuddly, loving, low-key bossy
Loves: Being loved, cuddling, naps, walks, belly rubs, being your shadow
Needs: Loving family, walks + cuddle time, patience with dog introductions, puppy training
Notes: Can be bossy with other dogs — does best as only dog or with calm, tolerant dog + slow intro
Promise: The sweetest sleepy boy who will love you endlessly and keep your lap warm for life.

🌸🐾 Meet Bella! 🐾🌸
Bella is a sweet and shy 4-year-old girl who is ready to leave her difficult past behind and start the next chapter of her life with a loving family. ❤️
Bella and her siblings came to the shelter in heartbreaking condition, having clearly been through more than any dog should have to endure. Thanks to the dedication of shelter staff and lots of care, patience, and love, Bella has made an incredible transformation and is now healthy, safe, and ready for a fresh start. ✨
While Bella can be a little timid when meeting new people, beneath that shy exterior is a gentle, loving soul just waiting to blossom. 🌷 She is learning that the world can be a kind place and that people can be trusted. With a patient family willing to let her move at her own pace, Bella's confidence will continue to grow every day.
Bella is looking for a home where she can feel secure, loved, and cherished for the rest of her life. Watching her come out of her shell and discover what it means to be a beloved family member will be one of the most rewarding experiences for her future adopter. 🏡💕
After everything she's overcome, Bella deserves a happy ending. Could you be the one to give this sweet girl the forever home she's been waiting for? 🐶❤️

Merv: 89 lbs of Puppy, Zero Chill 💪🐾
Meet Merv — 7 months old, 89 lbs, and he thinks “personal space” is a rumor.
Merv is 89 lbs. of high-energy fun. He’s a puppy in a linebacker’s body. Built like a tank. Moves like a wrecking ball. Loves like a tidal wave. If you want a chill lap dog… keep scrolling. If you want a full-contact best friend who will bulldoze your heart? Merv’s your guy.
Merv does not believe in personal space, he loves pounce and play, so for this reason, he would probably do best in a home with older kids. He greets you at 100 mph. He plays like every toy owes him money. He sits on you, not next to you. He’s not mean. He’s not aggressive. He’s just a giant toddler who missed the memo about his size. Toddlers and small kids would get knocked over. Teens and adults who laugh when 89 lbs lands in their lap? Perfect.
Merv would benefit from learning a few basic commands, but he is smart and eager to learn. “Sit” is a suggestion. “Down” is negotiable. “Leave it” is… a work in progress. But toss him a treat and watch that big brain turn on. He wants to be good. He just needs structure, training, and someone who thinks obedience class sounds like a fun Saturday date. Food motivates. Praise works. Consistency wins.
Merv is just a playful goofball that adores people, playtime and treats and is hoping to find a fun family who can give him the love and care he craves. Fetch? All day. Tug? He’ll win. Walks? He’ll pull until he learns not to. Then he’ll collapse on your feet and snore like a chainsaw. He’s equal parts athlete and cuddle monster. All parts ridiculous.
He’s 7 months: still growing, still learning, still very much a baby in a grown-dog body. He needs exercise. He needs boundaries. He needs someone who looks at 89 lbs of chaos and says “challenge accepted.”
He’s not for everyone. He’s for someone active. Someone patient. Someone who wants a dog to hike with, train with, laugh with, and occasionally get tackled by.
Come visit with Merv today at Oakland County Animal Shelter. Bring a sense of humor. Leave with a best friend.
Merv’s Details:
Age: 7 months old
Status: Ready for adoption | Neutered, vaccinated, microchipped
Vibe: High-energy, goofy, affectionate, strong, no personal space
Loves: People, playtime, treats, pouncing, wrestling, naps after chaos
Needs: Active home, older kids/teens, basic training, leash work, exercise, structure
Notes: 89 lbs + still growing. Not for small kids. Needs training commitment
Promise: A hilarious, loving, giant puppy who will keep you laughing and moving.

Cocoa: Slow to Trust, Worth the Wait 💛🐾
Meet Cocoa — 2 years old and learning that good people do exist.
Cocoa has been at the shelter since December of 2025. That’s months of watching other dogs get picked. Months of kennel life. Months of wondering when her turn will come. She came in as a stray with no story and no one looking for her. The shelter became her home because she had nowhere else to go.
Cocoa was a stray that was never claimed so for this reason we do not know how she would be with small kids or other pets. She’s calm and polite with people, but life before us is a blank page. Meet and greets are a must. We want her next move to be her last move — into forever.
Cocoa might take a minute or two to warm-up to new faces, but once she can see that you are there to be friends with her, her tail wags and she gives kisses. She’s not the dog who jumps into your arms on day one. She studies you first. Is your voice soft? Are your hands slow? Are you safe? When she decides yes, it’s everything. Tail wags. Soft eyes. Gentle kisses that say “thank you for waiting.” She doesn’t give her heart away easy. But when she does, it’s yours.
Cocoa would do best in a home where she is given patience, kindness and love while she adjusts to new surroundings. New house. New sounds. New routine. She’s been institutionalized for months. The world is big and she needs someone to shrink it down to “you’re safe with me.” Quiet home. Predictable days. A person who understands that trust is earned in inches, not miles.
Cocoa hasn't had the best life thus far but she has a lot of love to give to the right family. She deserves soft beds, not concrete. Slow walks, not kennel stress. A person who looks at a shy, overlooked 2-year-old and says “you’re not forgotten anymore.”
She’s house-trained. She’s gentle. She’s ready to learn that homes don’t disappear and people don’t give up. She won’t be your instant best friend. She’ll be your earned best friend. And that’s the kind that lasts.
Come visit with Cocoa today, she’s been here since December.
Don’t make her spend another season waiting.

Cocoa’s Details:
Age: 2 years old
Status: Stray, never claimed | At shelter since Dec 2025 | Ready for adoption
Vibe: Reserved at first, sweet, gentle, loyal once she trusts
Loves: Quiet affection, soft voices, slow pets, routine, safety
Needs: Patient adult home, decompression time, kindness, stability, love
Notes: Unknown with kids/other pets. Long-term shelter resident. Needs time
Promise: A tender, faithful girl who will love you deeply once she knows she’s home.

Unicorn: Real Magic, No Myth 🤍🐾🦄
Meet Unicorn — 1 year old and living proof that magic is real.
Unicorn was found tied to a tree, alone and abandoned. Someone left her behind like she didn’t matter. Like she wasn’t rare. Like she wasn’t magic. They were wrong.
Despite being abandoned, this mythical creature does not hold grudges. Unicorn still adores people. No bitterness. No fear. Just a tail that wags for everyone she meets and eyes that say “do you want to be my person?” She chose forgiveness. Now she needs someone to choose her.
She is happy, friendly, and hoping to find a home where she would never be abandoned. One person. One family. One forever. No more trees. No more waiting. Just a door that opens for her and never closes again.
Because Unicorn is a stray, it is not currently known how she would be with other pets or small kids. What we do know: she’s all heart with humans. She’ll need slow, proper intros to new friends, and a family that lets her decompress and shine. She’s earned that.
Unicorn loves walks, playtime, and yummy treats. She’s 1 year — young, joyful, and ready to actually live. Long walks to sniff the world, zoomies in the yard, and treats for being the good girl she already is. She wants a life as big as her heart.
She’s not a fairytale. She’s real. She’s here. And she’s waiting.
Don’t make her wonder if love is real. Show her.

Believe in magic again.

Unicorn’s Details:
Age: 1 year
Status: Abandoned, tied to tree | Thriving now
Vibe: Happy, friendly, forgiving, people-lover
Loves: Walks, playtime, yummy treats, humans
Needs: Forever home, never abandoned again
Notes: Unknown with other pets/kids. Go slow. Stellar with people
Promise: A rare, resilient soul who will love you like you’re magic too.
