It Takes a Special Kind of Person to Do This Job. And an Even More Special One to Love It. 🐾

Veterinary nursing isn't for the faint of heart. It's messy, exhausting, unpredictable, and sometimes heartbreaking. It's juggling a dozen responsibilities, celebrating the victories, carrying the tough moments home, and showing up the next day ready to do it all again.

At Crosswater Animal Hospital, Laura, Sydney, Madi, Sam, and Kortnee tackle it all with determination, teamwork, compassion, and a whole lot of heart.

They laugh together, support one another through the hard days, and never lose sight of why they do what they do. Because every single patient matters.

To our incredible nursing team: Thank you for your grit, your humor, your dedication, and the love you pour into your patients every day. We couldn't do it without you, and we wouldn't want to try!

First vet visit: NAILED IT. 💕🐾

Meet Luna, a sweet little Golden Retriever girl who came to see us for her very first visit at Crosswater!

At just 10 weeks old, Luna has already figured out the important stuff: be adorable, charm everyone in the building, pick out a new toy...and then plop down on the floor because you've had quite enough excitement for one day. 😂

And apparently the little pink bear was the one. Excellent choice, Luna.

Welcome to the Crosswater family, sweet girl! We can't wait to watch those little paws—and the puppy attached to them—grow up. ❤️

Sisters. Same breed. Very different vibes. 😂🐾

Meet Sailor and Pearl, two beautiful Australian Shepherd sisters who came to see us at Crosswater!

Pearl is 3 years old and clearly has the whole “being adorable for the camera” thing figured out. Big smile, perfect pose, no notes. 💕

Her little sister Sailor is 1 and appears to be taking her role as younger sibling very seriously: watch everything Pearl does, learn from it...and then decide whether or not to cooperate. 😂

Because isn't that basically sisterhood?

Same gorgeous Aussie genes, two completely different personalities, and one very lucky family. ❤️

We loved having you both, girls!

This is what 8 years of being a very good boy looks like. 💛🐾

Meet Cooper, an 8-year-old Labradoodle who came to see us at Crosswater—and apparently nobody told him vet visits aren't supposed to be this much fun. 😂

Look at that face! The bandana. The curls. The enormous smile. Cooper looks less like he's at the doctor and more like he just found out we're all going out for ice cream afterward.

And at 8 years young, he's got that perfect combination of distinguished gentleman and happy-go-lucky doodle. ❤️

Thanks for bringing that smile to Crosswater, Cooper. You made ours a little bigger, too!

Meet Bella! 🖤🐾

Bella is a beautiful 3-year-old Black Lab who came to see us at Crosswater and was kind enough to let us know that she has standards when it comes to veterinary bribery.

Whipped cream? Absolutely. Please continue. 🤤
Peanut butter? No thank you. I have a palate. 😂

We respect a girl who knows what she likes—and judging by that sweet face, we're guessing it's pretty hard to tell Bella no when she requests a little extra whipped cream.

Thanks for coming to see us, beautiful girl! We'll make a note for next time: hold the peanut butter, heavy on the whipped cream. ❤️

Meet Canelo! 🐾❤️

Canelo is a 2-year-old Goldendoodle who came to see us at Crosswater looking exceptionally handsome—and sporting a hairstyle we can only describe as full commitment to the bangs. 😂

Can he see us?
We’re not entirely sure.

Does he look fabulous?
Absolutely.

Some dogs come to the vet. Canelo arrives looking like he's about to drop an album. 🎸

🎉🐾 **Happy 2nd Birthday, Stella!** 🐾🎉

We had the joy of celebrating sweet Stella’s second birthday today, and of course, we made sure to celebrate properly—with a birthday hat and a pup cup! Because really, what more could a birthday girl need?

We’re so happy you stopped by and let us shower you with a little extra love and a few extra treats today, Stella! We hope your birthday is filled with all your favorite things and that your second year is your best one yet!

Ryder would like everyone to know she is a VERY distinguished lady. 💜🐾

She is 9 years old. She is a beautiful Chocolate Lab. She has years of wisdom and experience behind those sweet brown eyes.

And then...there's the tongue. 😂👅

We tried for a dignified portrait. Ryder had other plans—and frankly, we think her version is much better.

There is just something extra special about our senior pups, and this sweet girl absolutely made our day. ❤️

This beautiful girl is Allie, a 6-year-old Yellow Lab who recently came to see us at Crosswater.

And can we talk about this pose?! The bow. The name sign. The thoughtful gaze into the distance. Allie didn't come for a vet visit—she came for her yearbook photo. 😂❤️

We're pretty sure the caption underneath should read:

“Most Likely to Convince You She Hasn't Had a Treat Yet.”

You are one classy lady, Allie. Thanks for making our exam room look like a professional photo studio! 💕

Everybody meet Scout! 🤍🐾

Scout is a 10-week-old American Bulldog who came in for his first visit at Crosswater weighing an already-impressive 21 pounds. 😳

And judging by those paws, we're thinking there's a LOT more Scout still to come. 😂

Fun fact: American Bulldogs are quite different from their shorter, stockier English Bulldog cousins. They're generally taller, more athletic dogs with a history as working farm dogs. So while Scout is currently serving up adorable squishy puppy belly and floppy ears, this little guy is going to grow into one handsome, powerful boy!

He also picked out his very own toy during his visit. Excellent choice, Scout. Nothing says "big tough American Bulldog" quite like a plush banana. 🍌😂
