Veterinary Nurse (Full-Time / Part-Time)
Position Overview:
The veterinary nurse’s primary role is to assist veterinarians with patient care during wellness, sick, and surgical appointments. Nurses are expected to ensure all animals receive attentive, compassionate care while supporting efficient clinic operations. This is a team-based role; all staff are expected to assist where needed and remain productive during downtime. Prior experience working with animals is recommended but not required.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist veterinarians during exams, treatments, and surgical procedures, including patient preparation, sedation, intubation, and monitoring
• Prepare vaccines and medications as directed
• Collect, prepare , and process samples for diagnostic testing
• Take patient histories and communicate with clients
• Perform digital radiography
• Clean, maintain, and prepare surgical instruments and packs (ultrasonic and autoclave)
• Safely and calmly restrain animals, including those that may be stressed or painful
• Utilize practice management software efficiently
• Answer phones, schedule appointments, dispense medications, and check out patients
• Multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment
Physical Requirements:
• Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds without assistance
• Ability to stand or walk for extended periods during a work shift
• Ability to work long hours
