For those of you who are aware and/or attended our town hearing last night, I wanted to provide clarity since the result was a tad confusing!
Last night’s hearing regarding The Barker House ended with the Zoning Board determining that they do not have jurisdiction over the matter because there is no special permit currently in place related to our operations.
What this means for our clients is simple:
The Barker House will continue operating boarding and our services as usual.
While the outcome did not provide the definitive long-term resolution many people were hoping for, we are grateful that the Board acknowledged our continued operation and that we are able to move forward serving the families who rely on us every day.
Most importantly, I want to say thank you.
The amount of support shown by our clients, friends, families, and community members last night was overwhelming in the best possible way. Seeing so many people take time out of their evening to stand beside us was something I will never forget.
Over the years, The Barker House has become a trusted part of many families’ lives, and last night reminded me just how special this community truly is.
We remain committed to caring for your dogs with the same love, responsibility, and dedication that we always have.
Thank you for trusting us with your family members. ❤️
