Good afternoon my friends! I have to admit this were two long, sleepless nights. On September 28th, Dolce gave birth to five kittens, and last night her mother, Antalya, also gave birth to five. Antalya decided to deliver her kittens in Dolce’s box, right next to her grand-kittens, and Dolce was right there, actively helping her mother. Usually, my cats start giving birth at midnight and finish by five in the morning...Bear in mind that Antalya never tends to the newborn kitten herself; she waits for my help. I’m the one who frees the kitten from the placenta, cuts the umbilical cord, clears its airways using specific maneuvers and massage, and dries it off—only then do I let the mother cat lick it and place it against her ni***es. Someone might ask why I breed both females at the same time. But that doesn't really depend on my plans. Females living in a pride tend to go into heat simultaneously. I could prevent a cat from mating, but the heat would return in two weeks. If a female isn't allowed to mate two or three times, she can develop pyometra, which is fatal. I lost a cat that way many years ago. I guess I’m getting too old for sleepless nights. You wouldn't believe it, but every time the cat starts pushing, I have to run to the bathroom myself. It’s exhausting! I'm trying to slow down, but it's not going very well. 🙂😗🥹Now my task is to properly feed and raise the 10 + 2 kittens—and not forget to love, feed, and cuddle my other 11 adult cats.🙂
