Many people assume that releasing a domestic pigeon into the wild is “setting them free.” In reality, domestic pigeons were bred by humans and depend on human care for survival.
A baby like this doesn’t know how to find food, avoid predators, or survive on its own. Releasing domestic pigeons isn’t freedom—it’s abandonment.
True compassion means giving domesticated animals the care and safety they need, not forcing them to fend for themselves.

Some pigeons are used in hunting dog training—but being released for practice is extremely dangerous to the pigeons with many getting left in the wild with severe injuries they may not survive. These birds aren’t disposable; they’re domestic animals who deserve safety and care and don’t deserve to be tortured.
