🌈 You will be so dearly missed, Duke.
I try not to have favorites in my job, but every once in a while a special case comes along that just makes them a little more special in my heart. This is Duke, he is one of my first clients when I opened the shop almost 7 years ago. I met his Mom and Dad and my first public event to promote my new business. They explained to me that Duke had some aggression issues (mostly with men) and they were nervous at the idea of bringing him to me to get him professionally groomed. I am not sure why they decided to trust me with their baby, but I am so glad they did. Duke and I made leaps and bounds over the years, and I am pretty sure he even ended up enjoying his bathes (even if he wouldn’t admit it).
Duke was recently diagnosed with an aggressive cancer, and after being an absolute trooper and fighting as much as he could; he told his parents he was tired and ready. I was so lucky to have known Duke and his parents. He really was the best boy, and we will miss him so much here. Rest easy sweet boy and run free 🌈 🩵
