What a fantastic weekend we had hosting our first 2026 CPE Canine Scent Sport (CSS) trial event at the Lake Springfield Baptist Camp in Chatham, IL. We had very full days since we were at maximum capacity in Containers and Interiors.
Our judges Kim Dykstra and Jennifer Hassett set up search areas on the campground that were perfect challenges for the different levels of dog. Thank You Jennifer and Kim !
Our PTZ Parking Lot Team “aka
miracle workers” were able to keep the flow of competitors going in the two directions of searches for the Rings and also adjusted the flow as needed throughout the weekend. Thank you Christy and Lynn.
Our Secretary Marilyn Steward and additional scorekeeper Toni Frank were able to enter the scores speedily, get the ribbons ready for competitors and also oversaw the kitchen area too. Thank you Marilyn and Toni.
To the volunteers who signed up to help to the others who jumped in as needed, we couldn’t do it without your help. You guys were helping set up canopies early in the day, taking down canopies, helping pack all the little vehicles back in the haul, etc. THANK YOU all!
Like all our trials in the past, we had environmental challenges like dust storm alert, a swarm of bees and tree branches falling, but we were all able to adapt and continue through the day.
