At TMR Rescue, we focus on donkeys, but we also have mules and horses who have found safe haven as abandoned, neglected, and abused animals.

We welcome adopters, volunteers and tours. For more information or to schedule a visit go to TMRRescue.com Mission Statement: "We strive to protect vulnerable equine that need a safe place to recover from abuse and neglect, preserve rare breeds nearly lost forever, educate the public about the true value of equine to our history and culture, and promote the need for research to provide the veterinary community with long needed knowledge about longears." TMR Rescue is located on 207 wooded acres in a little town called Todd Mission, TX. We advocate for better lives for all equine, but our emphasis is long ears. 200 acres, one very important purpose. ❤️ TMR Rescue sits on a 200-acre sanctuary in Plantersville, giving donkeys, horses, mules, and ponies the space they need to heal, recover, and just be horses... or donkeys. 😉

From open pasture to daily care, every part of this property helps us do what we’re here to do: rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome equines in need.

It’s a lot of land, a lot of work, and a whole lot of heart.

This is why we’re here. ❤️ At TMR Rescue, our mission is simple: rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome equines in need.

Across our 200-acre sanctuary, donkeys, horses, mules, and ponies are given the care, time, and dignity they need to recover and get ready for what comes next.

For some, that means a loving new home. For others, it means a safe place to heal a little longer.
Either way, they get a second chance. And that’s what TMR Rescue is all about.

Today is all about our mules! These handsome guys each have their own personality and bray. It’s actually a mixture of a neigh and bray. They are stunning animals. ‼️😍

One reason why birds and horses are not unhappy is because they are not trying to impress other birds and horses.
