PENDING adoption
"Warning: Extreme levels of cuteness have arrived in Illinois! 🐾 Available foster to adopt.
We’ve officially welcomed two standard dachshund puppies who just finished a cross-country trek from Texas. They’re here for the snow, the snuggles, and to grow into their very big paws.
At just 3 months old and 10lbs, they are already well on their way to becoming ‘Big Weenies.’ Red boy is Charlie and black is sweet Ayla. We’re pretty sure they’re going to love the Illinois winter—as long as they have plenty of sweaters, of course! Stay tuned for more updates. Big shout out to their foste mom Jennifer for taking such a great care of them!
(They will be available foster to adopt as they are too young to be neuter/spay at this time. We would like them to go to a home with another dog (dogs must be fixed and up to date))

Boy- red Charlie
Girl- black Ayla

Update: X-rays show it is IVDD, his labs are good, and we have reached out to Harborside Animal Hospital and Dr Garcia that we have used in the past. For now, Bandit is in our Post Op crate on wheels, and has pain meds on board. He ate his dinner and drank lots of water, and did poo at the vet today. Trying to get him into specialist on Monday or Tuesday. 💔💔💔😭😭

Please keep my Bandit in your prayers. We are at the vet. He wouldn't eat yesterday, slight limp, and then didn't want to use the ramp to get on the couch. I was gone all day for appointments but then Mike saw his back leg occasionally sliding out. Gave him meds, and put in a crate for the night hoping better this morning. He is not, and it is worse, and now not pottying, and both feet sliding to the side... Scared his back is going out..😔😨😭

Adopted 🐾
Bernie came to us early August 2025 from a hoarding situation of animals and things. He was afraid over everything choosing to just hide in his kennel and quarantine area. Within few days we realized he could not walk and put his rear leg down. We saw our vet, and then a couple of specialist and quotes were from 6k and up, would require strict crate rest and rehab. Last October a vet reached out to us, said he would do the surgery for 4K. Thanks to the many donors, raffle tickets etc, Bernie received his surgery. After months of rehab and forced contact he began to come out of his shell, more importantly no longer was every movement painful. Bernie loved to run, but was still scared to go outside in the day time without pain and discomfort. At the end of March a foster to adopt Mom said she would love to give Bernie a chance. He was still very nervous around strangers particularly men. After a little more than a month this is what she said.

Bernie is a very loving dog 🧡 He’s been fitting in just fine. He gets up every morning is first in line to go outside, I no longer crate him during the day as he gets along great with my dogs. He goes outside and plays with Sam runs around the yard, and isn’t in very much of a rush to go back in the house. He is doing great! Wagging his tail playing running around asking for the door when he needs it. We have even taken couple of short trips to Home Depot. He fits right in! Bernie is on his forever Home.

This sweet boy Raymond needs a forever family to call his on. He is a Doxie mix, and yes it is likely a Pit mix from the looks of his head. We have never done a DNA test but he is 29 lbs, and thinks he is 9 lbs and loves his people. Favorite place is snuggled on the couch or in your bed... loves to play. He would be best in a home with kids over 12, and one where someone is home most of the time.

Raymond is house trained, and uses a doggie door and overall a great boy!
He is very healthy although he does eat prescription food to prevent crystals in his urine and comes with a large container full. Raymond comes with 9 months of Heartgard, he is up to date on all shots and vetting.
If you think you may be the Forever Home this boy needs please let me know 813-644- 1382.
