Meet Bailey, a lovable 6-year-old Bulldog whose family brought her to UrgentVet after she began panting heavily outdoors on a warm day. Bulldogs can be especially sensitive to heat, so acting quickly matters. 🐾

Our team checked her vital signs, ran diagnostics, gave fluids and monitored her closely. Her tests were within normal limits, and she was feeling much better at home during follow-up. 🩺🐶

Small legs, big comeback energy. 🐾

At just 11 weeks old, Camila took an unexpected tumble and briefly held up her front paw. Her worried family brought her to UrgentVet, where our team thoroughly examined her. Thankfully, Camila was walking, playing, and showing no signs of pain or lameness.

We recommended close monitoring and plenty of TLC at home. The next day, her family shared that she was doing much better! We’re so glad this little adventurer is back to her playful self. 🐶💙

Max-imum comfort for Max, a sweet 10-year-old Great Pyrenees/Husky mix. 💙🐾

After suddenly developing weakness, vomiting, shaking, and pale gums following time outdoors, Max came to UrgentVet. With possible exposure to wasps or yellow jackets, our team quickly provided oxygen, IV fluids, and medications while closely monitoring him.

Thankfully, Max responded well and was resting comfortably before heading home. We’re wishing him a smooth recovery and sending lots of TLC to Max and his family. 🐶

Fun Fact: Their signature “ridge” is a strip of hair along their back that grows in the opposite direction from the rest of their coat! Pretty paw-some, right? 🐶

We just met the most Whole-Sam kiddo ! 🐕💞
Meet Sam! A 15-year-old Dachshund mix who came to UrgentVet after experiencing a frightening collapse episode at home. Upon arrival, his family also shared that he had been dealing with a worsening cough, significant weight and muscle loss, and a longstanding heart murmur.
Our team performed chest X-rays, an ultrasound, ECG, and bloodwork to get a better understanding of what was happening. The results showed advanced heart disease and left-sided congestive heart failure, with significant enlargement of the heart and fluid in the lungs that was contributing to his cough and increased breathing effort.
The good news? 💙 Sam’s bloodwork showed excellent kidney function, giving us a great starting point for medications to help his heart pump more effectively and reduce fluid buildup. His family will continue monitoring his breathing at home and they were asked to follow-up with his primary veterinarian in 7–10 days to make sure his kidneys are tolerating his new medication and to determine whether additional testing is needed.
At 15 years old, Sam has certainly earned all the love and care he can get. 🥰🐶 We’re so glad his family brought him in so we could help identify what was happening and get him started on treatment.

Our favorite Bro-dy in the whole world! 🐕💙

This sweet 5-year-old Chihuahua came to UrgentVet after a rough night of vomiting and loose stool. His family brought him in to make sure his tummy troubles weren’t anything more serious.

Thankfully, Brody’s blood work came back within normal limits! 🎉 After his exam, he received some medication to help settle his stomach and went home with a few extra goodies to support his recovery, including probiotics and a low-fat diet.

Brody was already feeling much better after his visit, and we’re hoping he’s back to his happy, playful self in no time! 🐾

Cookie may be sweet, but apparently she’s also a little bit of a collector. 🍪

This 5-year-old Chihuahua came to UrgentVet after suddenly hacking and gagging. X-rays showed she had swallowed several small pieces of material, so our Care Team stepped in to help clear her stomach.

Thankfully, Cookie responded beautifully and brought up several tiny pieces… including one little LEGO arm. 🧱💪

After some fluids, an antinausea injection, and plenty of TLC, Cookie was feeling much better and ready to head home. 🐾

Not every outdoor adventure goes according to plan—just ask Maggie! 🐝

Maggie came to UrgentVet with facial swelling from a suspected insect sting, and our team was ready to help. Allergic reactions in pets can happen quickly and may cause swelling, redness, hives, and in some cases, difficulty breathing.

The good news? Maggie is feeling much better! Her swelling has gone down, and she's back to her happy, playful self—just the way we like to see our patients. 💙
