Keep your pets safe and comfortable on Halloween! Try these helpful safety tips:
-Provide a quiet space. Too many visitors or noises can overwhelm pets.
-Candy is for people, not pets. Chocolate and other sweets can be dangerous for pets.
-Watch the door. Keep an eye on pets when greeting trick-or-treaters.
-Keep ID on your pet. If they get spooked and run off, identification helps them get home. Learn more at Plano.gov/PetRegistration
-Hide wires and cords. Keep electric lights and decorations out of reach.
-Use candles with care. Curious pets can knock over a lit pumpkin or candle and start a fire.
-Costumes aren’t for everyone. Don’t stress your pet if they don’t enjoy dressing up. Costumes shouldn’t restrict movement, breathing or vision. Avoid small pieces that can be chewed off and swallowed.
-If you do dress up your pets, feel free to share Halloween photos with us!
