❤️ Sometimes, the perfect match is right in your own backyard! 🐴

After trying lots of horses in search of the right fit, our client bailey_andi found her match in one of our very own — Priori, aka Beans! 🫘❤️

We couldn’t be happier to see Beans heading into this next chapter with his new person. Finding the right horse takes time, patience, and a little bit of luck, and we’re so excited to see what these two accomplish together!

Congratulations on your new partner! We can’t wait to watch your journey together! 🥰

Sometimes, the best way to improve the contact is to change what the rider is doing. 🐴

One of the exercises I learned at the recent New England Dressage Assoc Symposium with Jan Brink was using a polo wrap under the horse’s chest, near the girth, to help the rider stabilize her hands and develop a deeper, more secure seat.

By holding the ends of the wrap and gently drawing upward, the rider has a reference point to help stabilize her upper body and hands rather than constantly adjusting or fiddling with the reins.

The goal? A quieter, more independent seat and steadier hands that allow the horse to come up to the rider’s contact instead of the rider continually chasing the connection.

It’s a great reminder that sometimes, doing less with our hands allows the horse to do more.

Not every moment in training is about asking for more. 🤍

Allowing a horse to stretch forward and down while maintaining a steady rhythm is an important part of developing relaxation, suppleness, and confidence in the work.

We want horses that can adjust their balance and frame while remaining willing and connected to the rider.

Good training is about knowing when to ask, when to support, and when to allow the horse to stretch.

Not every training session is picture-perfect. 🤷‍♀️🐴

This guy likes to get low in the poll and tight in the throatlatch. We’re working on finding a higher poll, a swinging back, and a trot with a rhythm and cadence he can maintain in self-carriage.

Building strength, balance, and consistency takes time. We’re getting there, one step at a time! 💪

A big thank you to New England Dressage Assoc for hosting this weekend’s symposium with Jan Brink! It was a wonderful opportunity to learn, gain new perspectives, and continue developing our understanding of the art of training horses. 🐴

We’re grateful for the opportunity to learn from such experienced horsemen and for organizations like NEDA that continue to support education and the development of our sport.

It’s the preparation, the support, the little details, and being there for our riders and their horses every step of the way.

That’s what being a team is all about.

🐴 Good training doesn’t always happen in the saddle.

Long lining is another valuable tool in our training program, allowing us to work on balance, rhythm, and strength without the added weight of a rider.

For this horse, we’re using long lining to help strengthen his back, develop his topline, and improve how he carries himself.

Every horse is an individual, and having different tools in our training toolbox allows us to tailor our approach to what each horse needs. 💪

Because building a stronger horse starts from the ground up. 🤍

It’s the little things that make a big difference. 🐴✨

Cavaletti work isn’t just about stepping over poles. It’s about developing a consistent stride, improving rhythm, and encouraging the horse to become more supple through its body.

Watch this mare as she works through the exercise. By the last two cavaletti, we can start to see her becoming more supple and moving more fluidly.

The goal isn’t just to get through the exercise. It’s to help the horse find a better way of going. 👌
