🐱💨 Squirtle used… Feather Swallow. It was super effective.

Meet Squirtle, who paid our Pawsitive Care team a visit after deciding that the feathers from one of his toys looked less like playthings and more like snacks. 🪶

Because his family caught him in the act and brought him in quickly, our team was able to induce vomiting before the feathers had a chance to travel farther through his GI tract and potentially cause an obstruction. And Squirtle delivered — 4–5 feathers AND an impressive hairball!

After a little medication reversal and recovery time, our tiny Pokémon was able to head home. 💙

Fun fact: Squirtle really is named after the Pokémon! Unfortunately, this particular Squirtle appears to have chosen Feather-type over Water-type.

We’re so glad his family acted quickly and that we could help this handsome guy before his questionable snack choice turned into something more serious!

Get well soon, Squirtle! And maybe stick to Pokémon-approved snacks from now on. 🐾💙

🐾 Happy National Dog Day! 🐾

It’s no secret that we are a team of serious dog lovers — and National Dog Day seemed like the perfect excuse to introduce you to some of the four-legged family members behind the Precision Pet and PawsitiveCare INC Veterinary Urgent Care teams! ❤️🐶

These are our best friends, adventure buddies, couch hogs, snack supervisors, and constant companions and they are a pretty good reminder of just how special the bond between people and their pets really is.

One pup in this crew has an extra special connection to today: Dill, Dr. Mahoney’s dog, was originally adopted on National Dog Day! 🐾❤️ We think that makes today officially his holiday.

From the tiny to the giant, the young to the distinguished seniors, the perfectly behaved to the ones full of personality: we wouldn’t trade this crew for anything.

🐾 Meet Pancake! 🥞🐱

At just 13 weeks old, Pancake may be tiny, but he has already perfected the art of being ridiculously adorable.

This sweet little guy recently visited us at Precision Pet Urgent Care when his family noticed some redness, squinting, and discharge from his right eye. Pancake was diagnosed with conjunctivitis and headed home with eye medications and instructions to continue being this cute while he recovers.

We absolutely loved getting to care for this handsome little face and hope Pancake is feeling back to his best very soon!

Sometimes the smallest patients leave the biggest impression. 🐾✨

That philosophy guides every hiring decision we make. Technical skills can be taught, but compassion comes from the heart. We are proud to have a team that treats every patient as if they were their own.

Dixon was the perfect reminder of why that matters. While visiting us for a leg injury, all he wanted was a few belly rubs - and our technician, Kaylen, was more than happy to oblige. Those quiet moments of trust are just as meaningful to us as the medicine we practice.

At Precision Pet Urgent Care, we’re proud to regularly provide urgent care for more than just cats and dogs! Dr. Mahoney, our Medical Director, is available several days throughout the week to care for your furry, feathered, and scaly friends.

This week, we have expanded daytime availability for exotic and pocket pet patients!

Patient Spotlight: Beetlejuice 🖤

We couldn’t resist a little Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice moment with this handsome guy — and our Technician Supervisor, Sam, who just happened to fit the theme perfectly!

Beetlejuice came to see us after experiencing vomiting and bloody diarrhea. Thankfully, he was bright and alert on examination with normal vital signs. Our team performed bloodwork and abdominal radiographs, and he received subcutaneous fluids and anti-nausea medication while we treated him for suspected gastroenteritis.

Despite not feeling his best, Beetlejuice was an absolute sweetheart for his visit and we couldn’t pass up the opportunity to snap this photo with Sam. We hope this very appropriately named gentleman is feeling much better at home! 🐾

Feel better soon, Beetlejuice! (And maybe keep the sandworms and strange & unusual snacks to a minimum. 😉)

Can we all take a moment to appreciate this adorable little face? Meet Daisy, a 13-week-old Cavapoo who recently visited us after her family noticed blood in her urine, frequent urination, and vomiting.

Because puppies can become sick quickly, our team performed a thorough examination, a point-of-care bladder ultrasound, and a urinalysis. The findings were most consistent with a suspected urinary tract infection, and Daisy also showed signs of mild dehydration.

To help her feel better, Daisy received:
💧 Subcutaneous fluids for hydration
💉 An anti-nausea injection
💊 Antibiotics to treat her suspected urinary tract infection

She went home with medications, plenty of TLC, and instructions to follow up with her primary care veterinarian to ensure the infection completely resolves.

At Precision Pet Urgent Care, we know how scary it can be when a young puppy suddenly isn't feeling well. Our goal is to provide prompt diagnostics, compassionate care, and a treatment plan to help get your newest family member back to feeling like a playful puppy again. ❤️

Meet Baby, who decided that our recovery room blankets were the perfect place for a post-procedure nap. 🥹💙

Baby came to us after suddenly developing a painful limp and swelling in her left hind leg after jumping off a bed. To safely evaluate her injury, our team performed sedated orthopedic radiographs, allowing us to obtain high-quality X-rays without causing unnecessary pain or stress.

The good news? No fractures were found. Based on her examination and imaging, Baby is suspected to have a cranial cruciate ligament (CCL) injury—similar to an ACL injury in people. An unexpected finding on her X-rays also revealed old buckshot that had been present for years and was likely unrelated to her current injury.

After her procedure, Baby was carefully monitored as she recovered from her sedation. Once she was awake, comfortable, and stable, she headed home with pain medications, antibiotics for an unrelated paw infection, and strict rest instructions while she begins her recovery.

At Precision Pet Urgent Care, we're committed to making every patient feel as safe and comfortable as possible—from diagnostics to recovery. Sometimes that means lots of cozy blankets, gentle monitoring, and a quiet place to rest. ❤️
