I’m sad to share that we have decided to let Ingrid go.
The vet called this morning and the behavior symptoms are worse. She is not responding to treatment.
I am headed to Lubbock to be with her. 😞

Ingrid update:
I spoke to the vet late this afternoon. Another doctor did a heart check - she has the heartworms, but they have not migrated to the other side of her heart - which apparently can be a serious problem.

They are concerned about her behavior, like the nervousness she has had. She has been started on steroid medication. She will stay at the vet tonight again and we’ll check status tomorrow.

We’ll just have to see if she starts to improve or decline.

Tomorrow I’ll post the bill with what we have paid so far. It is caught up, except for new meds, some testing, and this hospitalization. Any donation help is truly appreciated.

We needs some prayers for Ingrid tonight 😞 - she is back at Live Oak.
She seemed to be making some progress, but there were a couple concerns. A few of her nails broke today and bled heavily. The foster said she also seemed anxious, pacing a lot.

At the vet office, she was very lethargic again - just like she was last week. She had lost weight despite good food and rest 🙁

The vet is concerned about how far the heartworms may have progressed, and also how the tickborne illness may be affecting her.

They ran some tests and wanted to observe her overnight. We’ll check on her in the morning.

They would really appreciate some donations of puppy food, puppy pads, puppy milk.
