This week’s Employee Pet Spotlight is shining on Rex, a handsome Bearded Dragon who belongs to our Education Coordinator, and he’s also a patient of our amazing Exotics Department!
When Rex isn’t busy being adorable, he enjoys two of his favorite things: watching TV and, when the weather is warm, sitting outside and soaking up some sunshine!
We love getting to know the special pets who are part of the LIVS family—and Rex is one special little guy!

Exciting News at LIVS! Congratulations, Dr. Caligiuri!
We are so excited to announce that, after completing her surgical residency at Long Island Veterinary Specialists, Dr. Lisa Caligiuri has officially taken on the role of our newest Staff Surgeon! Dr. Caligiuri is certainly no stranger to the LIVS family. Her journey with us began when she completed her surgical internship at LIVS, followed by her surgical residency. We are incredibly proud to see her continue her career right here with our team! Please join us in congratulating Dr. Caligiuri on this exciting next chapter. We are thrilled to have her as part of our surgical team and look forward to all that she will accomplish!

HAPPY NATIONAL LEFT-HANDERS DAY! August 13th
Today, Long Island Veterinary Specialists is celebrating all the lefties out there! Did you know that only about 10% of people worldwide are left-handed? And we’re not the only ones with a preference kangaroos are almost exclusively left-handed, while many parrots prefer using their left foot to hold their food! Whether you’re a lefty, righty, or just a little bit of both, we think it is something worth celebrating!
