A New Chapter for Missouri Flat Animal Hospital

For generations, Missouri Flat Animal Hospital has been proud to be your favorite neighborhood vet. A place where lifelong friendships are built, where you're greeted by name, where your pets are treated like family, and where we've shared in your happiest moments and stood beside you during some of the hardest.

Today, we'd like to share some exciting news about the future of Missouri Flat Animal Hospital. After many years of serving the pets and families of our community, Dr. Randy Robinson has made the decision to transition ownership of Missouri Flat Animal Hospital to Dr. Sateesh Vattam.

While ownership of the hospital may be changing, the heart of Missouri Flat Animal Hospital isn't. The compassion, personal relationships, and individualized care that have always defined our hospital will remain at the center of everything we do. We are excited to welcome Dr. V to our team and look forward to this next chapter together.

To help ensure a smooth transition for our clients, patients, and staff, Dr. Robinson will continue practicing alongside Dr. V for at least the next six months and possibly up to one year. This gives our clients the opportunity to get to know Dr. V while continuing to see the doctor they've trusted for so many years. One of our biggest goals during this transition is to improve appointment availability. Many of our clients know that Dr. Robinson's schedule has often been booked weeks in advance, making it difficult to get in
when your pet needs to be seen. With the addition of Dr. V and the expansion of our team, we look forward to offering more appointment availability, shorter wait times, and making it easier for your pets to receive the care they need, when they need it.

As our hospital grows, you may notice a few new faces joining our team, but you'll also continue to see many of the familiar faces you've come to know and trust. The people who have celebrated your new puppies and kittens, comforted you through difficult diagnoses, snuck your nervous dog an extra treat, and loved your pets as if they were our own aren't going anywhere.

For many of you, Dr. Randy, and all of us from the Missouri Flat team, have been there through new puppies and kittens, annual wellness visits, unexpected illnesses, and heartbreaking goodbyes. Being part of those moments is a privilege we never take lightly, and we're grateful for the trust you've placed in us.

The hospital you love isn't going away. It's growing. And it’s our hope that this next chapter allows us to care for even more families while preserving everything that has always made Missouri Flat Animal Hospital feel like home. The same heart, the same compassion, and the same commitment to treating every pet like family will continue to guide us every single day.

We can't wait to welcome you as we begin this exciting new chapter, right here at your favorite neighborhood vet.

💕Help Us Find This Sweet Girl the Forever Home She Deserves 💕

This beautiful young girl, estimated to be about 5–6 months old, has already experienced more uncertainty than any puppy should.

She appears to be a Pit Bull/Weimaraner mix and is an intact female. She was originally rescued from a homeless owner and has since been passed from home to home without ever having the stability every dog deserves. Her most recent situation became unsafe, and a kind-hearted Good Samaritan stepped in to make sure she was safe. She is now staying temporarily with one of our staff members while we search for the family she truly deserves.

Despite everything she's been through, she has remained incredibly sweet. She seems to want nothing more than to bond with someone who will love and care for her.

So far, she has:
Been wonderful with other dogs.
Done well around cats.
Shown gentle, loving interest in children who have come into our lobby.
Had no accidents in the home.

She's still just a puppy with her whole life ahead of her. She deserves consistency, patience, and a family who will make her feel safe and loved for the rest of her life.

If you think you could give this sweet girl the forever home she's been waiting for, or know someone who can, please send us a message. Even if you aren't able to adopt, sharing this post could help her find the person she's been waiting for.

Let's give this precious girl the happy ending she deserves.

We’ve heard some rumors circulating, and we’d like to take a moment to clear things up for our clients and community.

Dr. Robinson has not retired, and our hospital is not closed. He is here, continuing to see patients and care for your pets with the same dedication and compassion you’ve always known.

As many of you are aware, Dr. Robinson is planning for retirement in the future. As part of that process, we are currently exploring the possibility of selling the hospital. We do have a doctor working with us temporarily who has expressed interest in purchasing the practice. At this time, no final decisions have been made.

Dr. Robinson plans to remain with us after the sale for at least six months, and possibly up to two years, to ensure a smooth and thoughtful transition when the time comes.

Please know that you will always hear important updates directly from us first. Until then, it is business as usual, and our team is here for you and your pets.

If your pet needs to be seen, don’t hesitate to give us a call. We’re happy to get you scheduled!

Thank you for your continued trust and support 💚

Not every patient who comes through our doors has a leash… or even a home address.

This week included treating a very feisty squirrel with a rather unusual injury. Let’s just say — no two days in veterinary medicine are ever the same.

Caring for animals, wild or domestic, is something we never take lightly. It’s one of the many things that keep this job interesting (and keeps us on our toes).

Just another day at Missouri Flat Animal Hospital, with your favorite neighborhood vet.

Let’s have some fun — tell us about your pet!

This is Dr. Randy’s dog, Snuffy, who was very interested in getting his photo taken.

If you’ve visited the hospital recently, you may have seen him following Dr. Randy around… or let’s be honest, usually snoring somewhere nearby. 😴

Now we want to see YOUR pets!
Drop your pet’s name and personality in the comments!

First puppy visit for this sweet girl!

She was brave, curious, and earned plenty of praise along the way. Puppy visits aren’t just about vaccines. They’re about building trust, monitoring growth, and helping new puppies feel safe and confident at the vet. This little one did amazing, and we can’t wait to watch her grow!

These cold mornings can be tough on our senior pets ❄️

If your older dog is moving a bit slower, having trouble getting up, or just not quite themselves, chilly weather can make stiff joints more noticeable.

If your dog could use some extra support, give us a call. We’re always happy to help and talk through options to keep them comfortable.
