Today I honor my little man, Max, who has been one of my biggest inspiration for starting Paws and Claws Treat Box.
_
I have been absent but with good reason. Little Max developed inside his heart with a tumor growing inside one of his ventricles. By the time I found out, he had already stopped eating. My little man went home a year from today surrounded by those who loved him and his kitty sister, Sweetheart.

Max had a fiery spirit (true to his terrier breed) and he loved to explore the world. His nose and keen sense of smell would lead us during our treks. He was content with sitting at the front of my paddle board soaking up the sun. He was my protector and anyone who came to our home had to pass by the 15lb troll. He was a better judge of character more than I. lol He loved affection and being talked to. I remember carrying him in my arms as I hummed Happy Birthday and he fell asleep.

To some degree, Max embodied everything I was afraid to be- bold, risk taker, leading with his heart, being silly, accepting things the way they were, being brave and loving. But with him by my side, I was able to do all those things. Or was it that I always had it in me but needed a safe space do so. Now that he's gone, I'm going to continue to live my life in his honor-- being bold, taking risks and being brave.

And this will carry on to . This coming year, I am going to relaunch and do so properly. I’ve not fully invested into this company as much as I should, given Max’s untimely passing and grad school. This is one way I will honor you little man and shed light on doggie cancer.

I love you, kid. You are missed dearly.
