My name is Dr. Ashley Smith-Miller and I own PetVet365 South Hills in Pittsburgh, PA along with Dr. Megan Garrison. Curiosity and candy don't mix well on Halloween.

Chocolate, xylitol, and wrappers can all cause serious problems if your pet gets into the treat bowl, and busy nights with the door opening again and again make it easier for pets to slip out unnoticed. A little extra awareness goes a long way.

- Keep candy out of reach
- Watch the door during trick-or-treating, and
- Make sure your pet's ID and microchip info is up to date just in case
