COMING SOON FOR ADOPTION š¾
Doug āRipperā ā Rip | 4 years old | Recently neutered
Rip is a 4-year-old, recently neutered boy with a huge personality and an equally big love for his people. He came into our care in poor condition and has made an incredible physical and behavioral transformation with veterinary care, proper nutrition, structure, and a whole lot of love.
Rip is high-energy, athletic, playful, and extremely affectionate. We suspect he may have some German Shorthaired Pointer in his mix based on his build and behavior. He loves to run, will happily play fetch, and even naturally āpointsā when something catches his attention. He would thrive with an active family who can provide plenty of exercise, play, enrichment, and structure.
He is great with children and loves being close to his people. He has done well with some dogs, but introductions should be thoughtful and controlled as we continue learning which canine personalities are compatible with him. His response to cats is currently unknown, so we cannot consider him cat-safe at this time. For now, we feel his safest placement would be as the only pet, although the right canine companion may be possible following appropriate introductions.
Rip is crate trained and house trained. He does best with regular bathroom breaks and should not routinely be expected to remain crated for extended periods of 8+ hours. His medical history has otherwise been unremarkable aside from a significant UTI and urinary changes identified while he was still intact. Prostatic enlargement was a concern, and he has since been neutered. Mild bladder-wall thickening was also noted, potentially related to chronic urinary inflammation and his history of prolonged confinement. Because of this, maintaining a consistent bathroom routine is particularly important for him.
Most importantly, Rip is a dog who loves love. He wants attention, interaction, adventure, and a person to belong to. He has come an incredibly long way and is looking for a family who can match his energy while continuing to give him the structure, patience, affection, and stability he deserves.
Rip will be COMING SOON for adoption. š¾ā¤ļø
