🎓 Congratulations to Rusty on graduating his training program today!

Rusty came to us struggling with leash reactivity, and he has made so much progress through consistent training, patience, and hard work. We’re incredibly proud of how far he’s come!

One of the biggest things we remind our clients is that training doesn’t end at graduation—it’s an ongoing journey. The skills your dog learns need to be practiced and maintained in the real world to continue building confidence and success.

The good news? Rusty is now eligible to join our pack walks! 🐾 Our pack walks are available to dogs who have completed our lessons, classes, or board-and-train programs and are a great way to continue practicing skills around distractions while staying connected with our training community.

Way to go, Rusty! We can’t wait to see you on future pack walks and continue watching your progress. 🐕🎉

Your Dog Is Talking. Are You Listening?

Dogs communicate long before they bark, growl, or react.

A lip lick.
A yawn.
Turning away.
Freezing.
Pinned ears.

These are all ways your dog communicates how they're feeling. The best trainers don't just teach dogs, they learn to read them.

Understanding your dog's body language helps prevent problems, build trust, and improve communication between you and your dog. The better you understand your dog, the better your relationship becomes.

Let us help you learn how to successfully understand and communicate with your dog!

Sibling Aggression: "They Used to Get Along..."

One of the most frustrating things for dog owners is when two dogs in the same home suddenly start fighting or showing tension toward each other. Sibling aggression can develop over food, toys, attention, space, or simply because boundaries and structure have become unclear.

The good news? It doesn't mean your dogs hate each other.

Many cases improve dramatically with proper management, clear leadership, and training that teaches both dogs how to coexist calmly. If you're seeing growling, tension, guarding, or fights between household dogs, don't wait for it to get worse. Early intervention makes a huge difference.

☀️ Summer Safety for Dogs ☀️

Summer is one of the best times to get outside with your dog, but it also comes with a few risks.

Remember:
💧 Bring water on walks
🌳 Take breaks in the shade
🔥 Check pavement before walking
🚗 Never leave your dog in a parked car
🐕 Watch for signs of overheating

If the pavement is too hot for your hand, it's too hot for your dog's paw. A little planning goes a long way toward keeping your dog safe, comfortable, and happy all summer long.

Feeling frustrated with your dog’s training? You’re not alone.

Yesterday, Trainer Laurel worked with our boarding dog, Daisy, who started the session pulling hard on the leash and struggling to focus. By the end, Daisy was walking in a nice heel, checking in, and paying attention to her handler.

It’s easy to get discouraged when progress feels slow, but training isn’t about being perfect. It’s about being consistent, patient, and continuing to show up for your dog. The small wins add up, and before you know it, those little improvements turn into big changes.

One of the things we love about our boarding program is that our dogs don’t just stay with us, they get opportunities to practice skills, build confidence, and continue learning while they’re here.

Great job, Laurel and Daisy! 🐾

Nebo has discovered one of his favorite things in the world: exploring off leash! 🐾🌲

During yesterday’s lesson, we focused on rewarding those voluntary check-ins while he explored and a reliable recall. Freedom is earned through engagement, and Nebo is learning that checking in with his handler and coming when called doesn’t mean the fun ends—it means more adventures ahead!

He’s gaining confidence, making great choices, and proving that a solid recall starts with a strong relationship. Proud of this guy and the progress he’s making every week! 🐾

Dreaming of off-leash adventures with your dog? Whether it’s hiking, camping, or just giving your dog more freedom while staying safe, we can help build the foundation. Contact us to get started!

Proof that friendships come in all sizes.
Oliver may be the little guy, but nobody told him that! 😂

Watching him play with his bigger friends is hilarious. Oliver gets so excited that he’ll stand up on his hind legs just to keep the game going. He definitely thinks he’s the same size as the big dogs and honestly, his confidence says he is.
