We're so proud of Dr. Tiffany McCarty for representing our team on WPXI News!

Dr. McCarty recently shared some important information about how the wildfire smoke can affect our pets, especially brachycephalic (short-nosed) breeds like Bulldogs, Pugs, Boston Terriers, French Bulldogs, and Persian cats. As always, she did a fantastic job educating our community and helping pet owners keep their furry family members safe.

Please take a few minutes to watch her interview below, and join us in congratulating Dr. McCarty on a job well done! We're lucky to have such knowledgeable and compassionate veterinarians caring for our patients every day.

🐾 Great job, Dr. McCarty! We're proud to have you on our team. ❤️ https://youtu.be/jKikqwwznx4?si=0SAotttkWCfNu_k0

Enjoy the videos and music you love, upload original content, and share it all with friends, family, and the world on YouTube.

What a wonderful day celebrating with our community at the Ross Township/Perrysville Independence Day Parade! 🇺🇸🐾

Our team had an absolute blast walking alongside so many smiling faces, waving to families, and sharing in the excitement of the holiday. The highlight of the day was definitely our very special guest, Reagan the miniature pony, who stole countless hearts along the parade route! Watching the children light up with excitement as they met Reagan made the day even more memorable.

Thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate with us, cheered us on, and helped make the parade such a fun community event. We love being part of such an amazing community!

🐾❤️ What an inspiring day serving pets and their families in Butler, PA!

We were honored to partner with The Street Dog Coalition and Harmony Dog Rescue for a community wellness and vaccine clinic focused on helping animals in need receive essential veterinary care and support.

A special thank you goes to Dr. Brian Silvis, Dr. Tiffany McCarty, and Dr. Nikita Ahuja, who generously volunteered their time, knowledge, and compassion to care for pets throughout the day. Their dedication helped ensure that many animals received vaccines, wellness services, and much-needed medical attention.

Events like this are a powerful reminder of what can be accomplished when organizations come together with a shared commitment to keeping pets healthy and with the families who love them. We are incredibly grateful to the volunteers, rescue partners, and community members who made this event possible.

Thank you to everyone who attended, supported, and helped spread the word. Together, we are making veterinary care more accessible and strengthening the bond between people and their pets—one paw at a time. 🐾❤️

Special thanks to Paul at Scrimshaw Media for his photography skills and sharing his photos.

The booms, bangs and bright lights of the the 4th of July can be terrifying for your pets. Here are some points to help you prepare for a calm and enjoyable holiday with your pet.

🐶Keep pets indoors before fireworks begin and avoid outdoor time during peak noise hours. Walk dogs earlier in the day when it is quieter.

🐱Create a safe, quiet space in the home with a bed, blankets, favorite toys, and access to water. Many dogs feel safer in a small room or covered crate if crate trained.

🐶Close windows, blinds, and curtains to reduce noise and flashes of light. Turn on a TV, fan, or calming music for background noise.

🐱Make sure collars, tags, and microchip information are up to date. More pets go missing around the 4th of July than almost any other time of year.

🐶Avoid bringing dogs to fireworks displays, even if they normally do well in crowds. The loud, unpredictable sounds can trigger fear unexpectedly.

🐱Offer enrichment or distractions such as a stuffed Kong, lick mat, puzzle toy, or long-lasting chew to redirect focus.

🐶Stay calm and act normal. Dogs often feed off our emotions, so keeping routines as consistent as possible can help.

🐱🎉For dogs with known anxiety, speak with your veterinarian ahead of time about calming supplements, pheromone products, or prescription medications if needed — don’t wait until the day of fireworks.

🐶Consider a snug-fitting anxiety wrap or compression shirt if your dog tolerates it well.

🐱If your dog becomes panicked, avoid punishment or forcing them to “face their fear.” Give them space and reassurance in a safe environment.

🌟A little preparation can go a long way in keeping pets safe and calm this holiday. Have a happy and safe 4th of July!
