🐾 THE SERVICE DOG TASK YOU MIGHT NEVER NOTICE 🐾

When people think about service dog tasks, they often picture the obvious ones—opening doors, picking up dropped items, or guiding someone through a crowd.

But some of the most important service dog work can happen so quietly that the person standing right beside the team never realizes it happened.

A tiny nose nudge. 🐶
A paw placed on a leg. 🐾
A dog who suddenly stops and stares intently at their handler. 👀
A subtle change in body position.

To everyone else, it may look like nothing.

To the handler, that tiny behavior may communicate something incredibly important.

That’s why we teach people not to judge a service dog team by what they see during a few moments in public. You may be watching a dog “just sitting there” while that dog is actually doing exactly what they were trained to do.

❤️ Sometimes the smallest action can have the biggest impact.

At Cosmos Working Dogs, we believe service dog education helps create a more understanding and accessible world for every working team.
