On a 70°F day, the inside of a parked car can reach around 90°F within just 15 minutes. On an 80°F day, it can climb to nearly 100°F in the same amount of time. 🚗🔥

Even with the windows cracked, parked in the shade, or only running a quick errand, heat stroke can happen fast. ☀️💔 Our pets can’t cool themselves the way we do, making them especially vulnerable to dangerous temperatures.

The safest place for your furry family member on warm days is at home in the air conditioning. 🏡❄️🐶🐱

☀️🐾 Hot Pavement Alert! 🐾☀️

With the warmer weather here, it’s important to remember that pavement can get much hotter than the air temperature. If it’s too hot for your hand, it’s too hot for your pet’s paws! 🐶🐱

Before heading out for a walk, try the 7-second test. Place the back of your hand on the pavement for 7 seconds. If it’s uncomfortable for you, it can burn your pet’s sensitive paw pads.

Here are a few ways to help protect your furry family member:
🌱 Walk in the grass whenever possible
🌅 Choose early morning or evening walks when temperatures are cooler
👟 Consider protective booties or paw protection products
💧 Bring plenty of fresh water and take breaks in the shade

Even when the weather is warm, your pup still needs exercise and outdoor time. A few simple precautions can help keep them safe, comfortable, and happy all summer long! ❤️🐾

☀️ Summer is here, and warmer weather means it’s time to take a few extra precautions to keep your furry family members safe and comfortable! 🐾

Did you know that hot pavement can burn your pet’s paw pads in just a matter of minutes? If it’s too hot for your hand, it’s too hot for their paws! Try walking during the cooler morning or evening hours whenever possible.

🐶 Flat faced breeds such as Bulldogs, Pugs, French Bulldogs, and Boston Terriers can have a much harder time breathing in the heat. These pups are especially prone to overheating, so be sure they have plenty of shade, fresh water, and air conditioning on hot days.

🐕 Big fluffy breeds can also struggle when temperatures rise. Extra fur may be great in the winter, but it can make staying cool a challenge during the summer months.

A few other warm weather reminders:
💧 Always provide plenty of fresh water
🌳 Make sure your pet has access to shade
🚗 Never leave pets in a parked vehicle
🎾 Limit strenuous exercise during the hottest parts of the day
🦟 Keep up with flea, tick, and heartworm prevention

Summer is meant for making memories with our pets, and a little preparation can go a long way toward keeping them happy and healthy all season long! ❤️

Mom noticed a little lump on Bean and decided not to wait, bringing her in to have it checked out. We know finding something unexpected on your furry family member can be scary, and we’re always happy to help provide answers and peace of mind.

To make the visit as stress free as possible, we gave her a little sedation so we could collect our samples comfortably and fear free. She absolutely loved all the extra attention and cuddles, and everything went smoothly!
