🐾 WE’RE TURNING FIVE YEARS OLD! 🎂🎊🥳

Pawsitive Transfurmations opened (just shy of) five years ago, in October of 2021. The idea of Pawsitive Transfurmations was based primarily on a desire to elevate not only the quality of the grooms themselves but also the grooming experience. Over the past five years, we like to think we’ve been successful.

About half of small businesses in the US close before they hit the five year mark. Not only are we proud to still be here, we’re proud to not have abandoned our principles, proud to be a part of Dormont, and proud to be privileged to care for the best dogs in Pittsburgh.

We just returned from our annual trip to Hershey Groom Expo, the country’s largest dog grooming expo and competition, where we spent several days taking classes and seminars, learning new skills and refreshing old ones, in order to continue providing top notch care to the best clients in all of Pittsburgh! 💜

✨📢 A COUPLE OF ANNOUNCEMENTS 📢✨

- If you’ve been in the salon in the last month, you may have already seen our little sign up in the lobby announcing this; on July 15, our prices will go up. We hate to have to do it, truly, but the last year has been very tough on small businesses and our overhead has risen significantly more than what’s normal in a year. 😔 This price change will not exclusively, but *mostly* affect LARGE double coated breeds, and FULL SIZE doodles.

- As a reminder, please wait outside if there is another family currently in the lobby when you arrive. Sometimes our clients take their collars and leashes on or off in the lobby, and we don’t want any dogs to be able to escape if the door opens suddenly.

We appreciate everyone’s understanding, and we’re so grateful to have the privilege of caring for your pups! 🐾 🐕

Note the affected date range, and that veterinarians who received the affected vaccines have been instructed to contact their patients. :)

ATTENTION PET OWNERS (02-24-2026): Rabies vaccine made by Boehringer Ingelheim Animal Health is being recalled.

⚠️The recalled lot is IMRAB 3TF; serial 18665; expiration date March 12, 2027.⚠️

Vials in that shipment may have contained sterile water instead of rabies vaccine. Pet owners with questions about the recall should contact their veterinarians.

Owners of pets that received a rabies vaccination after September 29, 2025 should review their rabies vaccine certificates and contact their veterinarian if this product was administered.

Re-vaccination is required for pets that received the affected product. Veterinarians who received the affected vaccine shipment have been notified by the vaccine manufacturer and have been instructed to contact the owners of pets that received this product.

Pennsylvania law requires that dogs and cats are vaccinated against rabies within 4 weeks after the date the dog or cat attains 12 weeks of age and maintain a current rabies immunity as prescribed by rabies vaccine manufacturers.

Please note: The health department is simply passing along this information to the public, the recall was initiated by the manufacturer and under the input of the USDA.
