**Winifred has found her new home 🤍

This is Bareburgh’s Captured By Your Spell- also lovingly known as Winifred (Winnie)

Winnie was born 11/09/2024. She is HCM negative as of April, felv/fiv negative, vaccinated.

Winnie will be retired early from our program due to the fact that mom life wasn’t for her 🥺 she is the absolutely sweetest girl in the world and deserves the best family.

She will be spayed prior to placement. Serious inquires only & rehoming fee will apply. Saying goodbye to these cats especially ones born in our home is never easy. If you are interested please message me and tell me about yourself, your family & pets. I will not reply to posts asking how much.

Thank you 🤍

Sometimes Cattery plans change- and that’s ok. We will be posting a few adults that will be retiring and looking for their forever home.

Meet Nuzzle. He is an almost one year old male Sphynx. He gets his name Nuzzle because he is constantly trying to snuggle & be near his people 😻🤍

Nuzzle isn’t keen on cattery life & sometimes that happens. Nuzzle is HCM negative as of 4/2026. He is felv/fiv negative and up to date on his vaccines. He will be neutered next week.

Please DM me for more information on him. A rehoming fee will apply.

Hi All! 👋🏻☺️

I have made posts about this before, but we have some new followers with us as well as new babies in the world so I wanted to talk about the importance of outcrossing in the Sphynx breed.

One of the most important tools available to preservation breeders is outcrossing.

What Is Outcrossing?👇🏻

Outcrossing is the practice of breeding cats from different but approved genetic backgrounds to introduce new genetic diversity into a breed. In the Sphynx, outcrossing has historically played a critical role in the breed’s development and continues to be an important strategy for preserving long-term health and genetic viability. CFA has 3 permissible outcrosses for Sphynx- they are Domestic Shorthair, American Shorthair and Devon Rex.

Why Genetic Diversity Matters👇🏻

Every cat carries thousands of genes that influence everything from heart health and immune function to temperament and appearance. When a population becomes too genetically similar, the chances of related cats passing along the same harmful genetic variants increases.

Genetic diversity helps

* Reduce the risk of inherited diseases.
* Improve overall vigor and reproductive health.
* Preserve fertility and longevity.
* Maintain a stronger immune system.
* Provide breeders with more options for making responsible breeding decisions.

Preservation breeding is about balancing breed type, temperament, health, and genetic diversity. Outcrossing is one of the most valuable tools available to ensure the Sphynx remains healthy and sustainable for generations to come.

The ultimate goal of preservation breeding is not just to produce beautiful cats, but to leave the breed stronger, healthier, and more genetically diverse than we found it. Outcrossing is an essential part of achieving that mission. 🤍
