Shift Supervisor

The Velvet Paw, Pittsburgh’s new and exciting luxury dog care business, is looking for an energetic, responsible Shift Supervisor!

The Shift Supervisor is responsible for supervising animal care in the daycare, lodging and grooming sections, and administrative duties in support of these functions. Additionally, they are responsible for supervising the Daycare/Boarding Specialists and ensuring the maintenance and cleaning of the pet center. The Shift Supervisor reports to the General Manager. Previous experience in the industry is preferred, but not required.

We are looking for positive, energetic, and motivated applicants to build our team!

The Velvet Paw is a positive reinforcement-based dog daycare and training facility with a strong emphasis on customer service, understanding canine behavior and improving the communication between dogs and people. Our philosophy is simple: we love dogs! We want to help clients build a better relationship with their dogs, and we strive to understand the dogs in our care to help them be the best pup they can be!

We are looking for a Shift Supervisor, Boarding Specialists, Daycare Specialists, Stylists, Bathers, and a Guest Services Receptionist.

Candidates must be enthusiastic learners, committed to gaining a thorough understanding of our services and procedures, have a positive attitude, effective communication skills, dedication to providing an unparalleled experience for our clientele, and, of course, a love of dogs.

Experience in the dog care industry is preferred, but not required. In fact, we will put every team member through a thorough and rigorous training upon hiring - at no cost to you!

If it seems that the opening of the Velvet Paw has been a long time coming, it has. We are earning our status as a "luxury" dog hotel through the construction of a truly luxurious facility, equipped with beautiful suites and state of the art flooring, ventilation, and disinfecting systems.

But that's not all. The Velvet Paw is committed to keeping your dogs safe and happy, and to providing an unparalleled experience while in our care. We believe that the only way to achieve this goal is by investing in the education, training, and hands on experience of every employee who will care for your precious pups.

This past week, we sent our General Manager and Assistant Manager to The Noble Dog Hotel in Greenville, South Carolina and to the Noble Dog Lodge in Columbus, North Carolina. We cannot thank our friends at the Noble Dog facilities enough for their hospitality, and their willingness to spend so much time with our managers, letting them participate in every aspect of their working days.
