Help Julius Keep Fighting ❤️
Julius is only 2 years old, and he has already been through more than any cat should have to endure.
What started as a routine neuter turned into a medical nightmare. Julius has since undergone three major surgeries, including two emergency surgeries for intestinal obstructions. His most recent surgery cost $11,000, following a $6,000 surgery and another $2,000–$3,000 procedure when complications occurred during his neuter. His family has also faced numerous emergency visits and other medical expenses along the way.
Now, six weeks after his last surgery, Julius has developed infected necrotic tissue around his incision. He needs continued antibiotics, specialized wound care, additional treatment, protective garments, isolation, and extensive aftercare.
⚠️ If he cannot beat this, they are recommending him be put to sleep, and he does not deserve that ⚠️
He also has a specialist appointment on October 3rd that will cost approximately $960. His prescription food alone costs around $400 a month.
His doctors also want to investigate why Julius continues to develop these life-threatening obstructions and determine whether he has a digestive motility problem or PICA.
But through all of this, Julius is still fighting. He is eating, drinking, and showing everyone that he still has so much life left in him.
And Julius means so much more to his owner, Melissa, than just being her cat.
Julius was born on Melissa’s Nana’s birthday, shortly after she passed away. Before she died, Melissa’s Nana told her that she would come back as an orange, fluffy cat. Julius came into Melissa’s life during the deepest part of her grief and helped her through losing her.
Her Nana wasn’t just her Nana. She was her mom.
To Melissa, losing Julius would feel like losing her all over again.
We know $25,000 is a big goal, but the medical expenses have already exceeded $20,000, and Julius still has a long road ahead of him. The goal will help cover his continued medical treatment, antibiotics, wound care, specialist appointments, testing, prescription food, and recovery.
Julius is only 2 years old. He deserves the chance to keep fighting and live the life he was meant to have.
