The grouse are in the freezer!! We were able to harvest two beautiful grouse and Woody ABSOLUTELY NAILED a grouse! Woody went on point down in an alder swamp and as we got closer I noticed he was unsure so we relocated him and BOOM! He went HARD on point, I flushed the grouse, and my buddy Issac was able to make contact with this beautiful grouse! Woody did awesome on holding his point! As we were screaming with joy for this dog we went to go pick up the bird and it was GONE! There was feathers everywhere and no bird! We called woody back to the area and he scented at a stump with a few holes and at this time it had been a few minutes of us wondering “Where in the heck did this bird go?” And as woody scented that stump we saw that the bird burried itself into a hole and we were able to pull the bird out and harvest it! What a story and what a day! Thank you Issac for tagging it along I had a blast!!

What a great weekend! Thursday a fellow coworker wanted to come up and hunt and we got into a flight of woodcock and we had a blast!!!! Saturday was a low key day as Rhett and dad had to close up camp incase we don’t make it back during deer season, and Sunday we hunted with our family friends the Jackman’s and as you can tell, Rhett man was yelling for uncle John to get out of the way so we can go get more birds!! Yesterday we popped up a single grouse and that was it unfortunately. Stay tuned for other season updates!

What a great day for Grouse Holler! All dogs had bird contacts today with plenty of shots taken and a harvest of a grouse and a woodcock! Moxie had a beautiful find of a brood of grouse where one was harvested. Maggie had a stop to flush on a grouse. Bauer had two grouse finds and woody had one grouse find and 2 woodcock finds. WHAT A DAY!

Grouse Holler would like to thank Wanderlust Kennels for the help they provided this guy over the summer! Woody was returned to us at no fault of his own and needed some TLC and Wanderlust Kennels was willing to take him for a few months and do some work with him! There’s was no questions asked when I called Matt if he had room and time for Woody. We can’t thank them enough! Matt and his wife Lea are top notch, and down to earth people. We also want to say thank you too Lea for the setter welcome sign…Matt some day we’ll fill your house with setters instead of labs😉 Woody has been spoken for and will be headed out to Wisconsin after this upcoming hunting season, we will be hunting him here in New Hampshire for our hunting season to get him tuned up for his new owner. We couldn’t be more pleased with how his future is playing out. Again, thank you to everybody that was involved in making this dogs life better. It really means a lot

Woody is still available to the perfect home. He is a 3 year old intact male English setter. He has been started as a hunting dog and is currently in training for a refresher on obedience.

Woodys is looking for a hunting home that will continue his training and let him cuddle up on the couch at the end of the day. He is a long legged boy that would do best hunting open ground where he can stretch his legs. You can call us at 603-723-6228, privately message us or email us at [email protected]

Remember me!?

Woody is back through no fault of his own. He is spending time with our good friends at Wanderlust Kennel for a tune up before he’s ready for his next adventure.

Woody is a big running dog that would excel hunting quail on plantations or out on the plains for sagebrush grouse. Rehoming fee applies to cover training.

Those interested can reach out to us or Wanderlust Kennel for more information. Let’s find this boy his forever hunting home.
