Everyone stay warm with this weather we are experiencing. We are out and working, but if I can help you prevent issues from arising, I would love to. The less colics I see the better. Let’s see if we can encourage increased water intake for everyone.

I have not said anything yet, because honestly, I have the best clients! You guys pay attention, whatever your discipline, to your equine community!! I was fortunate enough to become aware of what was starting on Tuesday late afternoon. We have already started boosting some horses that travel routinely, while making plans to get more taken care of.

While most of the time your vaccines are considered effective for a year, horses that travel, will stress their immune system, and may need a "top off" especially with a Flu/Rhino booster. I will also preface this by saying that some of the horses that have contracted this disease HAVE been vaccinated.

There is still a lot we don't know about this outbreak, but please know that we are doing all we can to mitigate any unnecessary exposure.
We will have extra safety measures in place for the following 2-3 weeks depending on what comes to light in the next few days.
If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to check with us.

Hello all! I hope we are all starting to figure out what our “new” normal looks like for a bit. If you need any help, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We are here to help your pets/ animals. I would encourage you to reach out and try with your “normal/regular” vet, to make sure you can get your critters taken care of. Those that know me, know this is not at all about charging people. For me, it is and always has been about continuity in care. I want to make sure we are helping your animal thoroughly. Just let us know how we can help.

 I am sure it’s some point after we have all had time to process, there will be lots of posts about the good and the bad of the storm. And I’m sure, I will be in that crowd. But for now, there are animals and people that need us…

I have already had a bunch of abscesses this week and respiratory issues popping up in a variety of species of animals. I am pretty confident that we will continue to see those over the next few weeks. Please don’t hesitate to reach out. We will have concerns for tetanus exposure another infections from cuts and things sustained during the flooding. I have been fortunate to get help and support from clinics out of our area as well as in our area.

my mindset is- We have only one option, and that is to get through this!
That means helping each other.
It’s not always easy, but a smile right now goes a long way.

We are triaging and trying to help treat all sorts of patients over the next several days. Our signal is still spotty so please keep trying to get through. 🚨 Recently we have had reports of raccoons with distemper across the county, especially in the Etowah and Mills River areas. Please make sure your pets are up to date on all vaccines. If you encounter any wildlife that appear to be sick, contact the North Carolina Wildlife at 1.800.662.7137
