Camp Merricks Camp Merricks is a boarding, daycare and training facility. We have wide open, green spaces for dogs to play.

We are NOT a rescue, but work closely with our local shelters and other rescues. Camp Merricks is a different type of place for your dog to stay while you are away. We crate board overnight in our climate controlled dog rooms. Daytime is spent outside free roaming in one of six yards with appropriate doggie friends. Whether you need to be gone for the day and want your pup to have time to play, or traveling for several weeks, Camp Merricks will make your dog feel like one of the family. We love when owners tell us their dogs get excited when they realize they are on the road to Camp! In addition to boarding, daycare and training services Camp Merricks is active in rescue. Watch our page for foster dogs looking for their new homes.

Here's some recent Puppy and Adolescent Dog Campers. These young dogs are part of our day long socialization, training, and handling programs. Start your training early so your dog learns good habits right away! While we can help fix unwanted behaviors when they are older, it's so much easier to start off right!

You can learn more about those programs on our website: campmerricks.com/training

Email us ([email protected]) to set up a meet and greet and discuss training options.

We also took in Toefoo. She's a 4 year old, purebred Rat Terrier. Her owner surrendered her because she wasn't getting along with the other dog in the house. We've had no issues so far. She's already mastered the dog door and is going in and out regularly.

Toefoo is VERY obese. We can't stress enough how terrible it is to overfeed your dogs. Toefoo pants and is uncomfortable. She's on a diet and exercise regime, and has already started losing weight.

She will be available from New Rattitude Rat Terrier Rescue & Adoption in the next few weeks.

We recently took in two new fosters. The first is Nathan. He is a 4 year old Terrier/Dachshund (?) mix we pulled from our friends in Amherst when they were dangerously close to over full.

He is a sweet boy who is learning the ropes at Camp and needs a neuter. That's scheduled for next Tuesday! He will be available from New Rattitude Rat Terrier Rescue & Adoption in the next few weeks.

We have met Rex a couple of times. He's a nice dog. He does fine with bigger dogs, and would be fine with older kids.

If you adopt him, you get a free transition lesson from us to help out.

Go see him! He's great.
