Circe has been with us over 120 days 🥺 She's a gentle and quiet presence in a sometimes loud world. Her soft purrs are a soothing balm for the soul. Her peaceful nature and calm stature have her consistently overlooked as she is typically curled up in her favorite bed or observing from the sidelines... until she gets her zoomies and hops around like a bunny (it's the cutest!) She spent time in our Concord location but now calls our Charlotte location home for a change of pace for this sweet girl. If you're looking for a great companion who has the gentle energy of an old, trusted friend, you just found her. She's only 1 year old, but an old wise soul nonetheless... one look into those eyes, and you can tell. She just wants the chance to be chosen. She wants to be the one to go home this time... it's been 120+ days of her friends being adopted...it's now her time. She wants HER chance.

📣 Calling all artists and animal lovers! 📣 The York County SPCA is hosting our first ever Pet Portrait Drawing Fundraiser this summer, and we are looking for volunteer artists! 🎨🖌️

Artists will create one of a kind pet portraits 🖼️ in the medium of the artist's choice for members of our community. The funds raised through this event will support the lifesaving work of the YCSPCA! 🐾

✏️ Artists must be at least seven years old to participate, but no prior artistic ability or experience is necessary. Applicants under the age of 18 must have parent or guardian consent.

✏️ Artists must adhere to the two-week timeline (Wednesday, July 17 – Wednesday, July 31) to complete their portrait and either drop off a physical copy at the shelter (3159 N. Susquehanna Trail, York, PA 17406) or scan and email a high-res digital copy so we can distribute it to the pet owner.

✏️ The deadline to sign up to be an artist is Monday, July 8. Once the sign-up period is over, our staff will review the submissions and contact you to let you know whether or not you have been chosen to be an artist.

If you are not interested in being an artist for this fundraiser but would like to have your pet drawn, the information on the pet portraits will be sent out after our artists have been recruited! 🐶🐱

July 4th is the biggest day of the year for pets to go missing. This Mobile microchip clinic is the perfect low cost opportunity to protect your pet before the holiday! As an added bonus rabies vaccines can be provided for only $10!!! The clinic will take place July 3rd across from the Animal Shelter!

Gary Sculley is our last remaining OG Salisbury cat as of tonight! 🥹 All of his original friends that he arrived with have been adopted! He's good at making new friends, loves all of our visitors, LOVES playing with feather wands and is a BIG BOY with a big nose and even a bigger heart. Thanks for the love over the last four weeks in our newest location - now who wants a collector's edition OG Mac Tabby cat?! Last chance! He's 1 of 36... but really, he's simply priceless 🖤🤍
