Seeds that hit the dirt today!

Florida Summer friendly plants, these love our summer heat.

✨Seminole Pumpkin-flavor mashup of pumpkin and butternut squash, has adapted to place roots at the nodes along the vine which is a natural adaptation to combat squash vine borers. This squash has a long stable shelf life.

✨Thai soldier long bean-my personal favorite long bean variety, high pest resistance, thrives in the heat.

✨Jewels of Opar-tropical succulent greens, beautiful jewel-like seed pods gave it its name.

✨Pink eye, purple hulled cowpea-a yearly favorite and trap crop, the aphids will hit this first, but it’s tough and then will bring in the ladybugs 🐞 we will be succession planting these.

✨Moonflowers-a big favorite, the blooms light up the night as they open at dusk. Loved by pollinators. Loves the heat.

✨Ridged Luffa gourd-awesome zucchini alternative for us in the tropics, picked young it is an easy swap in recipes.

Planning for more seeds to hit the soil over these next few days and weeks!

Happy Monday friends!

This is just a friendly reminder PSA which I’ll pin 📌 up at the top of the page untill November 30th.

Hurricane season starts for us today. We are on the gulf coast of central Florida literally just a few miles from the coast. Every year we hope for an easy season, some are easy, some are not. Last year was great. Anyways, we have rode out some big named storms, more than I can count, with coming up on about 30 years here in the state.

We are always prepared, but if a storm threatens our area here are some things you may need to know.

If I announce we are on PAUSE: It will be business as usual, orders still go out, but I will be very limited with answering messages and be prepared that pick ups may need to be rescheduled.

If I announce we are on LOCKDOWN everything stops as we would be bracing for possible impact near us. Keeping our family and all the little lives that we care for safe will always be top priority above anything else. Messages will not be answered until the event is over.

All updates would be posted on this page unless we are unable to post.

As always we hope for an uneventful season for all of us💚

Rabbit, rabbit, rabbit.

Hello June!

And what a pivotal marker this month is for us here. It’s our final wrap up on so many things and I’m ready for it.

The tropical fruit bounty is on the way.
I am done hatching, except for our quail.
Last rabbit litters till fall are here.
The garden is about ready for its summer snooze as the heat loving plants will begin to fill baskets.
Spring’s harvests to be preserved.
Orders continue to go out.

It’s a bit of a reset which is what I love most about Florida summer and I have some big plans!
