Introducing Honey 🍯💛

Honey joined our family on July 30 after I saw a post on Facebook about needing to be rehomed on a local yard sale page. I went to “go see” her and then of course she ended up sleeping in my bed that exact night 😂😂😂

She is a golden doodle, with the sweetest heart I’ve ever met. All she wants is love. She’s even more of a shadow than I thought was possible hahaha

It’s obviously been a journey with my heart accepting her as the new dog in our house. There have been a lot of tears as I am trying to open up, but am still in such pain after losing Holden in February (and Sophie last August). I’m reminding myself that I cannot compare them, as nothing comes close to your soul dog, and that I need to give myself (and her) time for us to bond.

I can share though that Honey has been absolutely amazing with our girls and they LOVE her. It brings me a lot of joy. And it feels pretty dang good to have floofy paws in the bed again. Oh, and she eats their crumbs. Big win to not have to mop anymore 😅

Missing my two fur babies 🫶🏼 how beautiful were they?!

I’ve been having dreams with both of them in them - I think that’s them visiting to say hello!! 👋 I so miss seeing them with our oldest daughter. But gosh how lucky was I to have their love?!

Wishing Carolina Baseball good luck at Omaha!!! Our dear friend Home Run RE*****ON came out of retirement to go cheer on our boys!!! Have so much fun, REMI 🩵🩵🩵

I think this will always be one of my fav photos of HTG 🩵🫶🏼

Fun fact, Holden was named after Holden Beach in NC - which turned out to be fitting because it was by far his favorite place to be!! He loved cutting through the waves to retrieve tennis balls and was such a strong swimmer (even up until last summer!!)

He was around 4 months old here and I love just how precious he was. Not a baby puppy but not yet that awkward teenager 😂 He had yet to learn my obsession of taking photos of him so he would truly just look at the camera and smile 🥲

HTG will furever be a Tar Heel 🩵

Back when I was a senior at UNC, we completed a “bucket list” for Holden to complete. This was one of my fav memories!! It actually lives in a book on Kenan Stadium in Chapel Hill by , furever going down in history.

These were some of our engagement photos from 5 years ago!! 🤍 I remember wondering how we could have the dogs as part of them, even though we were going to be on a mountain quite far from home. Our amazing wedding photographers did not hesitate whatsoever when I asked if they would drive up to my moms house over an hour away to take photos of us with the pups before we headed up the mountain to hike (and then change back into dress clothes 😂).

These photos are so special to us and I’m so thankful to have them!! HTG and Sophie were two of the most gorgeous and photogenic goldens ever. 🫶🏼

Our newest member of our crew is here 🫶🏼🤍 she is perfection and we have no doubt that HTG gave her some puppy kisses before her arrival.

We took our first family walk today and to be honest, it made me miss both puppies so much. I remember our first family walk after having our first daughter. It’s quieter around here, with definitely less dog hair - who knew I’d miss it so much.

Missing our sweet HTG and Sophie but remembering all of the good times we had with them 🩷

We are three days away from meeting baby sis (yay!!!) but I keep reminiscing on when HTG and Sophie met our oldest daughter for the first time 🤍🫶🏼🥹

They both were so curious but also really happy?? It’s like they had known her forever - it was so sweet. We had no idea what to expect with how they would react, but they both crushed it and loved her so much.

It will be strange going through this the second time without both of my pups. Sophie was my constant shadow and followed me everywhere, especially in the middle of the night. Holden was constantly there to help me regulate my emotions when I got overwhelmed. He was my heart dog. They were both there for me the entire time.

I will miss them so much!! Especially in those sleepless early days. But so thankful to get to look back on those beautiful memories and know they are pawtecting my girlies from above. 🐶🪽

When I asked you what were some of your favorite memories of HTG, many of you mentioned this video 🤍 tbh, it’s one of my favorites, too!!! Almost every time I would post it, it would get millions of views. He’s so sweet in it, so I can see why!!

Holden had the cutest “Dino scream” and would truly talk back to us. I always liked to think he was saying he loved me back. That bond between a girl and her dog is really something, huh 🫶🏼

Looking back at these videos of course makes me miss my sweet boy, but also brings so much peace and comfort. I hope this puts a smile on your face today!!
