I think this will always be one of my fav photos of HTG 🩵🫶🏼

Fun fact, Holden was named after Holden Beach in NC - which turned out to be fitting because it was by far his favorite place to be!! He loved cutting through the waves to retrieve tennis balls and was such a strong swimmer (even up until last summer!!)

He was around 4 months old here and I love just how precious he was. Not a baby puppy but not yet that awkward teenager 😂 He had yet to learn my obsession of taking photos of him so he would truly just look at the camera and smile 🥲

HTG will furever be a Tar Heel 🩵

Back when I was a senior at UNC, we completed a “bucket list” for Holden to complete. This was one of my fav memories!! It actually lives in a book on Kenan Stadium in Chapel Hill by , furever going down in history.

These were some of our engagement photos from 5 years ago!! 🤍 I remember wondering how we could have the dogs as part of them, even though we were going to be on a mountain quite far from home. Our amazing wedding photographers did not hesitate whatsoever when I asked if they would drive up to my moms house over an hour away to take photos of us with the pups before we headed up the mountain to hike (and then change back into dress clothes 😂).

These photos are so special to us and I’m so thankful to have them!! HTG and Sophie were two of the most gorgeous and photogenic goldens ever. 🫶🏼

Our newest member of our crew is here 🫶🏼🤍 she is perfection and we have no doubt that HTG gave her some puppy kisses before her arrival.

We took our first family walk today and to be honest, it made me miss both puppies so much. I remember our first family walk after having our first daughter. It’s quieter around here, with definitely less dog hair - who knew I’d miss it so much.

Missing our sweet HTG and Sophie but remembering all of the good times we had with them 🩷

We are three days away from meeting baby sis (yay!!!) but I keep reminiscing on when HTG and Sophie met our oldest daughter for the first time 🤍🫶🏼🥹

They both were so curious but also really happy?? It’s like they had known her forever - it was so sweet. We had no idea what to expect with how they would react, but they both crushed it and loved her so much.

It will be strange going through this the second time without both of my pups. Sophie was my constant shadow and followed me everywhere, especially in the middle of the night. Holden was constantly there to help me regulate my emotions when I got overwhelmed. He was my heart dog. They were both there for me the entire time.

I will miss them so much!! Especially in those sleepless early days. But so thankful to get to look back on those beautiful memories and know they are pawtecting my girlies from above. 🐶🪽

When I asked you what were some of your favorite memories of HTG, many of you mentioned this video 🤍 tbh, it’s one of my favorites, too!!! Almost every time I would post it, it would get millions of views. He’s so sweet in it, so I can see why!!

Holden had the cutest “Dino scream” and would truly talk back to us. I always liked to think he was saying he loved me back. That bond between a girl and her dog is really something, huh 🫶🏼

Looking back at these videos of course makes me miss my sweet boy, but also brings so much peace and comfort. I hope this puts a smile on your face today!!

The BTS of having my soul dog at our wedding 🫶🏼

As I am taking the time to remember my best friend, I can’t help but to reflect on the best day of our lives and how my best boy was there beside me - just like he was each and every day. 💍👰🏽‍♀️

I remember tossing around the idea of having both pups at our wedding and knew it was risky because of how excited they both would be. But I just couldn’t imagine not having them there - especially HTG!!

After getting ready and doing a first look with my dad, I just knew I had to do a first look with Holden. This first video is something I will cherish FOREVER!!! He literally says I love you back to me 😭🫶🏼

My advice if you are trying to decide whether or not to include fur babies in special moments of your life - it’s always worth it!! Figure out the logistics and know you will have these moments to always look back on. Now that both pups are gone, I get to look back at these and smile knowing they were both there on the biggest day of my life!! 💗

Our bond through the years 🤍🫶🏼🪽

It’s hard to put into words the comfort your comments on our last post has meant to me. I always knew HTG made an impact on folks - but to read your words has truly made me beam with pride. Holden was so special. I’m so glad you were able to see that through social media (and in person to those who met him!!).

The last few days have been .. sad and weird? Food on the floor from our 21 month old, still tiptoeing on the bathroom floor at night so I don’t step on him, his hair still everywhere lol, you know how it goes if you’ve lost your soul dog. But reading your kind words have helped me wayyy more than I could’ve ever imagined - so thank you!

I still plan to post lovely memories of Holden on here!! After all, this was created almost 11 years ago as a way to keep track of our bond and our time together. That will live forever!! 🫶🏼

For now, it’s time to go meet our new baby girl, whom I know will receive some puppy angel kisses from HTG before her arrival 🩷

Holden the Golden, my soul dog, crossed the rainbow bridge peacefully on Feb. 13. I will never be the same, as our bond can never be replicated. I’m forever grateful for the chance to experience that love, but brutally realizing how hard it will be to move forward without him physically here.

As I begin to try to process this (about a week before our next baby girl arrives), I’d love to know a favorite memory or post from HTG that made you smile. Your words will truly provide comfort during this time. 💛

Thank you for endlessly loving my boy all of these years. He felt the love and I’m so thankful.

Last weekend we got so much SNOW for the Sandhills of NC ❄️☃️ my back legs are still not doing great after all of my seizures and medications but you know I was running around like a puppy frolicking in it!!!

So fresh and so clean!! 🫧🛁 😎 I smell as good as I look!! I was super stinky from all of the seizures and vet appts so I am feeling much better and smell delicious after getting groomed!!
